Utah orders blanket gas station pump inspections

I was in Iowa the first of August. 91 octane was 3.53 a gallon. That is when our 85 was 4.05 a gallon. (scratching head)
MAVERIK will punish any retailer that drops their price below MAVERIK by lowering their price to the level that the competition will lose tons of money.
Ironically the simple fact that fuel prices are high drives a disproportionate amount of additional business to the low price leader -- again MAVERIK. By exercising their clout they are rewarded handsomely.
Think Im mistaken, ask any of their competitors why they wont lower their price significantly below the MAVERIK down the street? We know that right now they have plenty of head room in the price to do so! Mark my words prices only come down when MAVERIK 1st lowers theirs.
You want to really make a difference? Go anywhere other than MAVERIK (in addition to avoiding the junk food inside).
Ps. The highest octane fuels are NOT needed at 4,000 feet and higher in elevation. Yes, the cost of lower octane fuels should be lower. But most cars at altitide still only need 85/87 octane.
