My first memory of Biden on TV was in 1990 with the Clarence Thomas hearings;
what shocked me was growing up here in Utah and never hearing anyone stand up
to Senator Hatch and here was Biden yelling at him at every moment and making
Hatch look like less than intelligent. I guess that is why I like Biden so
much. Both he and Hatch grew up in PA; both are attorneys, both are
religious, both love family, but only one of them stands up for truth and
dignity and respect for the common man, only one of them has a sense of humor,
one of them has life inside his bones, one of them has curiosity, one of them
has been a senator and professor, and one of them does the Sunday morning shows
and one of them doesn't.

The change that Obama is proposing is increasing ALL taxes. McCain is keeping it
the same. If you think our Real Estate is in the toilet now then vote for Obama.

Obama said we should talk to Iran, when he first said it, many derided the idea,
including Rush Limbah. Now we under Pres George Bush are doing just that.
I think Barac Obama would make a wonderful president. It is clear to me he has the wisdom to lead and will be one of our better Presidents.

Who in their right mind (sorry about the pun) would want to relate to the
mega-rich who we all know by now has most likely done SOMETHING not exactly
kosher to get to where they are today (exception: hitting Mega-bucks in the slot
machines)?

Higher taxes to only the top 5 percent of the country----Go Obama! When
Clinton raised taxes on the wealthy----everything changed, states became richer,
universities, colleges, small town and big city all improved. In Europe many
executives are okay with a $500,000 salary and they are for parks, buses,
trains, and a content citizenry; but here no! Executives go for $50 million,
$100 million some also are against taxes, it is incredible. I respect rich
people who support the rich paying a higher tax, that includes Warren Buffett,
Bill Clinton, Oprah, most of the TECH world, all of Hollywood, and since much of
the big cities are Democrat (all big cities voted for Gore in 2000), we could
conclude that here too in the USA many rich are okay with taxes. Biden said
last night 95% of the people will not have a tax increase. One question no
conservative has been able to answer the last 6 years: are you for higher taxes
if it is the difference on winning the war on terror? You have to choose:
lower taxes or war? CHOOSE ONE. Our country chose war so now we have to have
higher taxes!!!!

What's wrong with labeling B. Hussein Obama as the Messiah? He is the Messiah to masses of his own kind here and around the world.
African Kenya, from whence came his roots, and Indonesia, the place of his youth are pulling for him. Much of the Muslim world loves him. Hamas and Hezbollah are pulling for his candidacy. In many respects, he IS a Messiah.

Neither of these men have my vote. I will support a candidate who will balance
the budget, abolish the Federal Reserve and restore sound money, thereby ridding
us of inflation (which Ben Bernanke himself has admitted is a tax), adopt a
non-interventionist foreign policy (that is not the same as isolationism - look
up the difference) and repeal all executive orders and laws which are
unconstitutional, thereby restoring our civil liberties. If we had a candidate
like that pretty much the all the people's criteria for a good president
mentioned above would be met.
We can't keep voting in individuals who want to band-aid our problems. We need to get to the root of them. Our government and individuals are in serious debt, inflation is out of control, we are mired in far too many foreign affairs that have and will continue to come back to bite us and our civil liberties are being stripped everyday. It's time for real change. Neither of these candidates will do it for us. I'd recommend beefing up on your food storage. We have rough times ahead. I don't mean to be cynical, but there is only so much we can take.

The Republican response to this? Lower taxes in such a way that the very rich get most of the benefits.
In defense of this terrible policy, conservatives are crying class warfare and hatrid of the rich.
No one hates the rich, its just that Americans want don't like seeing them getting more than their share of the wealth.
Do we want an America where the super wealthy top 5% have 40% of the wealth? while the rest of us have our income after inflation going down?

I find it funny that somehow people would have us believe that somehow the rich are getting away with something. However this would require completely ignoring the fact that there is a portion of the population that get back more then they pay. All that is required to do so is that you need to be poor, be married, and have 3+ kids.
It is hard to imagine that the same founding fathers who believed in equality in collecting duties, imposts and excises would have ever gone along with a system that takes more of your money just because you make more.
It is a shame that we have gone from a country where anything was possible to one that believes that anything is possible but only if the government steps in and takes it from someone else and gives it to you.

All this house talk is wasting my time. Does the press think we are genuinely
freaked that someone running for president is rich??? Money flies at whoever the
front runner is in either party and we all know why. A better story would be:

2) The top 5% pay the LOWEST tax rates they have EVER paid in our country's history right now.
3) The top 5% pay the LOWEST tax rates in the US vs. EVERY other industrialized country.
4) These low tax rates on the ultra rich also coincide with the largest deficits in our nations history. The number of people living in poverty is growing, wages have stagnated for the poor and middle class.

After watching the amazing flash and splash at the Dem Convention I wondered
what the cost of the event was for such a non-surprising outcome. The cost of
staging, travel, media coverage etc. Surely that money could go to some greater

You stated that Obama has no plans for mandated healthcare? I went to HIS website and found this little gem.
Mandatory Coverage of Children: Obama will require that all children have health care coverage. Obama will expand the number of options for young adults to get coverage, including allowing young people up to age 25 to continue coverage through their parents' plans.
So that he's not mandating coverage seems a bit out of line with information @ the canindate's own website. Where do you think the funding will come from for this? Can you say higher taxes?
