Is McCain smarter then a 5th gra | 12:25 a.m. Aug. 28, 2008
"Clinton reminded the audience that in 1992 Republicans said he was too inexperienced to be president. He said they were wrong then, and they are wrong about Obama now."

Clinton is right but he failed to mention that he and Obama both have more experience then John McCain when it comes to foreign policy, domestic issues and now it is time for people to learn about the real McCain, a man who lacks the experience to be President, whose knowledge is limited, who still thinks Czechoslovakia is a country and who believes that Iraq borders Pakistan. When confronted about the reality of Iran's government he didn't know that President Ahmadinejad is merely a figurehead and that the real leader of Iran is the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Even worst is his inability to know the difference between a Sunni and a Shiite.

Can we trust John McCain to be ready to lead on day one when he is so stupid that he still thinks a country exists that doesn't. It's time to put John McCain "Are you Smarter then a 5th Grader" so we can get a good laugh when a 5th grader kicks his senile behind.

Well Biden WOULD hail Obama as a great leader wouldn't he. Then again, Biden does have a checkered history of lies and deceit. So can we trust his judgement about Obama? NO!!! As for Obama, is past and even the present day reveals inexperience, weaknessess and serious personal flaws, which he tries to avoid discussing when questioned. He is further left in his politics than any sensible American would want to go. For the sake of your great country, don't go there America.

We need change | 1:51 a.m. Aug. 28, 2008
The bottom line is that the country is headed in the wrong direction, and we need to make a change.

Obama is smart, articulate, and self-made by hard work, not by inheritance. That makes Obama the opposite of George Bush.

I've had it with more of the same government that cares more about the Iraqi economy than the American family, for example.

I'm voting Obama-Biden. If they get only one vote in SE Idaho, that would be me. I Americans vote hope and fear.

Oh that we were all... | 3:42 a.m. Aug. 28, 2008
as perfect, upright and unerring as GK from England claims to be!

Who is he to sit on his perch an ocean away and cast dispersions on either McCain or Obama?

In this election an honest assessment would find shortcomings, weaknesses and character flaws in each candidate.

So?

What I want to know is how each candidate fights the personal battles and overcome adversity.

And...

... how that candidate will take on the real issues of the day including:

- The reemergence of the Taliban in Afghanistan
- Our country's dependence on oil
- The torture of enemy combatants
- The execution of the war on terror
- Competent government
- The restructuring of our fiscal infrastructure
- The economy and number of foreclosures
- The escalating price of food, clothing and energy

I say we spend our time and energy debating these issues and leave the character judgment and assignation and to history and eternity.

It depends on what you think of as a "wise leader who will bring change" The Nomination of The Obamanation, has made for a real bad day for America. America has done nothing to either, protect her Borders, secure her Ports. Most of all America has done nothing to protect the children yet to be born.
I do not see that there is going to be any change except more entitlement programs and National (get in a long line) Health Care. It will make Maricopa County Hospital seem fast moving.
There are some aspect of some of what has been said that I would like to observe if I was forced to. With or with out the Obamanation, I am not leaving America. 1. "my husband will force you to be involved" 2. paraphrase " You will work, you will not be allowed to remain as you are." I would like to see him pull that off. I would like to see just what it takes to get someone away from their 32" HDTV Set and outside to take part in the demonstrations. Or will I be forced to hire the 400 + pound women, now collecting Welfare. Think Not!!!

I trust Biden and Obama one heck of a lot more than I trust McCain, who has proved many times in his life that he puts his own wants and "needs" over honor and responsibility and duty (which, if they -- honor and responsibility and duty -- get in the way of what McCain wants, get dumped). And then there are McCain's "senior moments" . . .

that she was planning to vote for Obama, because he has apparently never taken money from lobbyist. I asked her how many laws has Obama written up that were passed? She is now voting for McCain (the lesser of two evils)Cindy McCain should be the one running here.

Mr. Bidens campaigns have always had the backing of all the major credit card companies from Delaware-Companies that charge 18-36% percent shark loans that have nearly bankrupted this country.
Now they tell us only the rich are going to pay more taxes- Yes Myrtle, 'Rich' are considered small business owners bringing in $250,000 per year with a $25,000 dollar profit. And guess who will pay for the Universal World Health Care?
Biden has alway wanted 'no bankruptcies' allowed on credit card debt.
Welcome to all the future 'CHANGE' in America!

I cant believe that anyone _ANYONE_ believes the crap bama is spewing. I kept waiting for him to take his clothes off and reveal he's really Superman- or he thinks he is.
Anyone who believes he will "SAVE" this country really needs to get back to reality.
I for one do not want gov. sactioned health care, higher taxes, cut n run, and I definatley do not want anyone in office who thinks so little of our military.
Truth is were in bad times and its not any one presidents fault and it will take a heck of a long time to fix, It will take all of us working together to make a difference.

The reality is our country isn't as "bad off" as polititians and the media like to portray. We haven't had another major terrorist attack since 9/11 (thanks to terrorists, and info they're getting off the battle field)
The economy tends to be cyclical.. but the less they mess with it and the more of our own money we can keep the better the economy rebounds in a Free Market.
You say you want change..who says it will be change for the better? Obama's politics aren't just liberal they are socialist. I don't think we need that kind of change

After watching President Clinton last night I have been asking myself how can anyone trust a political party who had an impeached President speak at their national convention. Has the Democratic Party forgotten that President Clinton committed perjury while under investigation by a Grand Jury in a sexual harassment case. Bottom line is that he lied and now we are suppose to trust his words that Obama is ready to lead this country, and just several months ago both he and his wife were saying that Obama lacked the experience to lead.

"My daughter told me":

Great. As soon as she finds about Obama spearheading congressional ethics reform, securing loose nukes, cleaning up the shameful situation at Walter Reed, and working for veterans' benefits, she realize that Obama has actually done far more in the last term than McCain has, and her vote will swing back.

You should at least ask her the same question: what has McCain done? Besides passing McCain/Feingold campaign finance laws that he has since tried his best to break.

Some want to blame Bush for all our troubles, some want to blame Clinton. Truth is that our country has not adapted to the changes that have been taken place in China, Russia, Iran, N. korea ect.. I dislike listening to politicians because they promise the world and never deliver on it. I am on the fence as who to vote for. Democrats want people to believe that McCain is Bush. He's not. Republicans want people to believe Obama is the devil. He's not. Both care deeply about this country and I think those who insult, degrade, and are downright nasty about either one need to be more objective and look at each candidate's qualifications and look closely at the issues. I am still on the fence as to who to vote for.

It is interesting to me how much energy and emotion is spent on worrying who the president will be, yet it is the election over which each individual has the least amount of influence. The reality is that the president can do very little without the complicity of Congress. He cannot take us to war unless the Congress gives him money to wage it. He cannot deliver universal health care unless the Congress gives him the money to do it. President Bush took us to war but the Congress gave him the money to do it, including many democrats. I say, if you want to exert energy on political matters, stop worrying about the presidency and start focusing on who represents you in Congress.

The poor girl at Subway told me, after I paid for my sandwhich, "Change, sir." I am soooo sick of hearing "change," I could gag. I told her to keep it. My point, I don't give a rat's patooey who is prez, the elected candidate will take to the oval office their own agenda, administration, goals, theology and ideas. Obama or McCain, each will bring "change," whatever that may be. Gag, I said it again.

At these conventions, the professional politician huck out the same same rhetoric -- every four years.

To go from the Olympics to the DNC and RNC is a stark contrat; real champions vs. champions-in-their-own-mind champions.

I agree with an ealier poster: Cindy McCain for prez. Yup.
