McCain * Romney '08!! The Dream Team!!
Hey Romney is dead right here!! I mean what an insult to ask a zillionaire how many homes he owns! Imagine asking poor old Mitt how many HE owns......... he's got better things to do than think about petty things like this. For instance how to maintain his tan and that super white smile while at the same time trying to figure out where all of the countries poor people came from. Leave these guys alone will ya.........
McCain has enough of an uphill battle as it is. Romney will not win for McCain any states McCain won't already win; and Mitt will quite probably cost McCain one or more Southern states that McCain desperately needs against Obama.
We can thank good ole' Southern Christian Evangelism. The Evangelists would sooner vote for a gay man or an African American (ergo, Obama) than a "cult member" like Romney.
Alas, I wish it weren't so. I also think Mitt is a terrific candidate and is badly needed. Unfortunately, prejudice in the South and the tight poll numbers make Mitt too risky for McCain.
JMHO.
Mitt, quit carrying the water for the guy who hates yah. Are you that desperate to be loved and to set yourself up for failure in 2012?
Quit being the lap dog. Grow up, stand up, get a spine.
Early dementia has already set in for John McCain. Look at the record of mispeaking, can't remembers, etc. Early dementia has already set in.
When he addresses the faithful in Minn. you will see him read, read, read, the card in front of him because otherwise he will leave the road. He has early dementia. You know it, I know it. Who is going to have the courage to say it outloud?
He's gone as far as he will ever go in politics.
I don't think Mitt is Christ, but I am concerned about his willingness to toss his values to "fit" with whatever the political whims of the times are. McCain has also turned right big time to appeal to the extremes of his party -- McCain's maverick reputation has been tarnished in my eyes. And adding Mitt, both of whom don't like one another -- a divide that goes way back to the 2002 Olympics when McCain criticized all the earmarks sent to Utah for hosting the Games -- could be a real challenge of leadership in the White House!
Here's mine:
1) Intelligence
2) Ability to listen to the opinions of others, and if persuasive, change positions when the evidence is compelling (read not rigid, open minded)
3) Ability to get along well with other people, not an egotist, ability to recognize one's mistakes, etc.
4) Ability to recognize talent and assemble a highly qualified team of people around you. Reagan was good at this. The country is not run by one man, but by a large organization with lots of talented people. As a result, I'm not that concerned if, a candidate has only been in public service a short time if he has the other qualifications listed above.
So, I would ask that we all take a careful look at the candidates and see what the people who've worked with them and know them well have to say about them. I personally don't think Mitt is any more or less qualified to be president than either John McCain or Barak Obama--I can make a case for all three.
As an American I think they are right. As a Mormon I am afraid of all the crazies that will now come out of the woodwork. But I think the country needs someone who has actual executive experience and someone who has had to make a payroll - not someone who was a "community activist" or been in government his entire life.
Let's face it, Mitt would be a disaster: flip-flopping, elitism, unlikeable outside of Utah. For a rich man, Romney panders like beggar, willing to sacrifice his integrity for political gain. Is this the Mormon spirit?
McCain simply doesn't respect Mormons or the measly 5 electoral votes Utah offers. Well I live in Utah, am Mormon, and am voting for Obama, who has only nice things to say about Utah (on a recent trip to his campaign office here, he told some staffers they are lucky to live in Utah.)
Now that the MItt fantasy is over, it is time for all Utahans to really consider who will be best for Utah and for the US--Obama. He has the plan, the intelligence, and the right set of skills to rescue the country from the Bush debacle.
OBAMA 08: It's inevitable!
That's funny. From my point of view your comment is evidence of a persecution complex, something that also seems to "rear its ugly head EVERY time a Mormon gets into the public spotlight."
Most of the anti-Mitty comments in this thread have NOTHING AT ALL to do with him being a Mormon.
Looks like the GOP is in deep doo-doo.
Make that VERY deep doo-doo.
We the voters are "taking the leap of faith" when we go to the voting booth and cast our votes. No one is perfect in this world.
That's an interesting writing style. Anyway, in spite of the fact that voting for romney is the smartest thing you could do, and voting against romney is blatant regigious bigotry, I'm voting Obama.
Senator McCain has garnered a lot of wisdom in his 72 years and he should be using it for his retirement years. Will President Bush be seen (and heard) at the Republican convention?
Speaking of hateful bigotry...
Don't you have an Anti-Gay-Marriage rally to attend?
I guess it's ok for the Utah liberals to to rip on Mitt. Heaven forbid someone critcize Pat Jones, when there is a pic of her shaking hands with Mitt!
She is still an embarrassment to this State!!
