Romney is a great American and exactly the type of person we need in the federal
government. My only regret is that he won't be president this time around
but I will be pleased to see McCain pick him as VP. He will bring extensive
executive and real world experience to the administration as compared to
Obama-Biden who have never had a real job between them. Biden's been a US
senator since he was 29 years old and has never worked in private business or
actually run anything. Romney will crush Biden in the VP debate. McCain/Romney

I have yet to here any concrete or even mildly substantial solutions to the
challenges we face from Obama. Talk is sooo cheap! He is the king of talk. The
message of "change" needs more than words and his record of action is
scanty at best. He needs to address his youth in Jakarta. The press and
everyone glides generously over this and says he was raised in Hawaii. He lived
in Jakarta till he was 10!

The biggest mistake the Republicans made was not electing Mitt Romney for
President. He would have changed the economy. Good luck with the other two
canidates that we have to pick from. Our only hope is that McCain picks Romney

Mitt created more jobs than he ever cut. He made his money turning around
companies, and throwing money and companies starting up. This is growth vs.
watching companies that go belly up. Downsizing wouldn't be bad for this
government! If the budget isn't balanced soon, it is going to collapse
under its own weight. Read some history, and you will find we are fast
approaching repeating the history of Germany after World War I, when that
government was paying its debt by printing money. The Fed is printing money
like no tomorrow trying to save the banks. Oil and everything is going up in
price as a result. The deficits are getting bigger, not smaller. I'm not
too happy with McCain because his Carbon cap & trade idea just might finish
us off, but Obama has the same idea, and he is going to outspend McCain like no
tomorrow. Hey, I'm looking forward to the $1000 he is going to give us.
Course, as it is borrowed money, we will not really get it because it is going
to make our money worth less. Vote for Obama, and watch the Democrats be turned
out like they were under Clinton!

I haven't been convinced the Republicans have many answers to the current
problems in the US.
For Mitt: If cutting taxes is the key to creating jobs and stimulating the economy, why have job creation and the economy been so miserable for the last 7 years? Even after the first recession resolved the job creation rate was pitiful. In the last 7 years middle class income declined (first time in history to do that). If that is a demonstration of the power of Republican economics count me out. I doubt that more of this will be better.
Historically, since these records began being kept in the Truman administration, the job creation rate under Democratic presidents was significantly better than under Republican presidents.
Rather than demonize the the other party or put out baseless (often factually incorrect) attack ads, why not advance policy positions that actually have merit?

A lot of people care about Romney outside of Utah. Romney is much bigger that
these small minded critics ken. Check out usatoday, csmonitor, Boston herald
and Globe, Time, msnbc, denverpost, foxnews, cnn, washingtonpost, latimes,
abcnews, etc., etc. Everyone is talking about Romney because he is among the
best options McCain has. What scares me is that McCain might just try to win
votes by choosing Hillary as his VP candidate. He is liberal enough to consider

What a joke - it's even hard to believe he got as far as he did, but then dems tend to look on the outside package and not on the inside.
Heck, Clinton would have given the dems a much better race. At least she is far more qualified to be president and would have actually proven she has a track record.
I hope Mitt is the selection for Veep - he'll bring common sense change to our healthcare, economy and will lend vital support to foreign policy to compliment McCain's strength in that area. And he's humble enough to be the Veep.

I find it very entertaining to read the many comments from both sides of this
argument. Everyone is so passionate and sure that they are right. I will remind
you that we are talking politics here. That means that everyone on both sides
will talk a lot about what sounds good and what they think the largest majority
of voters want to hear. It is rather sad that there is so much venom being
thrown about by both sides. Name calling and passing judgments on the character
of a person with only knowing who they are by what you read in the paper or
because they are the same religion as you is very irresponsible. Whether you
believe in the Bible or not there is very good wisdom in the story that ends
with Jesus saying, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."
You are supposed to have an opinion and be able to choose according to your best
judgment, but trying to influence people with snide, sarcastic comments is not
productive. Also, irresponsible comments that are full of grammatical and
spelling errors only add to your lack of credibility. Use spell check!

Get over the homes, Maybe they ought to ask Obama what his high school GPA was.
What differnace does it make. What executive experience does Obama have, how
many significant bills did Obama get through the Senate, how many commitees does
he chair? Where's the Beef? Let McCain announce his running mate,
it'll surley have more successes than Obama/Biden. Mitt could be and should
be, but McCain like the true leader will chose the best for the nation,
they'll upstage the Dems & the Liberals.

I was really thinking (and wishing) that Hillary C. would throw a monkey wrench
into the Demo Convention. She absolutely would have made the ticket much
stronger than Biden will. It will be interesting to see who McCain picks.
I'm an Independent and still kind of undecided about who I'll vote
for. I must say, Ron Paul is looking better all of the time. Too bad he
hasn't got a chance.

I am from Michigan where his father George was a Governor who was well liked by
both Democrats and Republicans. I think Mitt would be great for the job.
However, since there are more controvercial issues in our times people are
worried that he will let church doctrines rule certain issues.
