I watch Logan play through high school and it was obvious that she was a special player. It's been great to watch her improve throughout the Olympics and tomorrow's match should be a great one to watch. Good luck!

Logan has always been my daughters hero. She lives and breaths volleyball. She is just beginning her freshmen year at a junior college here in Wyoming on a volleyball scholarship. It is nice to have individuals like Logan for our youth to admire.

I have essentially no connection to volleyball, and no connection to Logan Tom. I am in my 40s. But I was in the first graduating class at Mountain View High School (all 3 years, 1983 grad), and in the first year of our school's existence (I was a sophomore), our women's volleyball team took state. It was the only state title we had that year, but that is not really the point...the point to make is, it was amazing that after splitting Orem in half, MVHS won any state titles at all its first year. The mayor came to our assembly to congratulate and honor the women's volleyball team. That impressed upon me how important women's volleyball is. I am a guy, just a football fan.

Fast forward from 1981 to 1998 - the local papers were touting Highland High and Logan Tom, and mentioning that she would be playing for Stanford. I remembered the importance of women's volleyball from my perch in South Jordan, and ever since then, I watched for Logan Tom in the news and saw mention of her occasionally, and in every olympics.

Even a mere football fan like me understands. Go Logan!!

congratulations on the silver--you are such a competitor; if there were 5 of you on the court it would have been gold; now it's time to work on the subleties-- finesse, and off-speed parts of your game.

I didn't know about Logan until the 2004 Olympics, but it was a steep slope into hero worship. Watching her play is electrifying. I don't understand why the U.S. doesn't have a more flourishing National League with so many great players available. I'd love to see her play in person and I hope the opportunity will be available in the states, but if not I'll visit whatever country she's playing in. She's that good!
