That's how my dad treated us kids in the 1960s and nobody batted an eye. If we misbehaved in church, my dad would drag us in the foyer, beat us, and then would re-enter the chapel with the kid still sobbing. And the Bishop would praise my dad for "taking control" and "wished more parents would disipline their kids". My mom always felt it was wrong, but since the bishop thought it was OK, she didn't want to speak against the Priesthood. It all turned out OK though, since all 4 sons will have nothing to do with their father anymore. How times change!!! I wish people had been more concerned about this type of behavior in the 60s when I needed protection.

Nice blame shifting onto the Church. Good luck with that philosophy, I 'm sure your humongous chip on the shoulder isn't keeping you back.
Beating a elderly woman in the face and dragging her by her hair is very different than getting your rear end whooped in the church lobby.

Re:Wow,that is an interesting response to this article. What happened in your past, good or bad
does not justify what this "male" did to his mother,
and sister.

I went to elementary school with him. I have to say that this doesn't entirely shock me. He was always an angry kid.

Yeah I agree I was raised in the 60's and it was a different attitude then. My mom would be in jail today for doing what she routinely did back then. I'm soooo grateful for members of the Church who showed me by their kind example, how a parent should act. I'm sorry you had a different experience. I'm not saying this is the case here, but I've often wondered if SOME cases of elderly abuse aren't kids retaliating against abusive parents. I"m sure some cases are just a bad seed beating an aged parent because the kid is evil, or mentally ill.

It's a truly sad story with that entire family. The parents Have been using and involved with drugs for the past 30 years. Ever since I knew them back on 1270 west. Rand ( the dad) use to sell dope and narcotics to my brother and Clancy their eldest son was also a dealer.
When I was a kid I use to play over at their house sometimes and Clark and Feather would pretend to be getting high with real drug paraphernalia.
We thought it was funny then. Oh the many regrets of childhood.
DON'T DO DRUGS KIDS! Or you'll end up like Clark, or having a crack baby like him.
