Nothing like serving in the US Congress for 27 years, with a multimillionaire
wife, half a dozen mansions and having had US paid-for health care from the
cradle to show Americans how to be industrious, smart and self reliant, eh, GWC?
I suggest you look at the biographies of both candidates to see which one most
closely matches your ideal American he-man, not to mention that one of them is
now in his 70's.

He's not the small money guy that he is trying to make you believe that he is. Only half of his money has come from small money donors (less than $200).

I know the reason why Obama has raised more $$ in UT over McCain... Its because
those dastardly NeoCons are investing their money in winning investments and the

Obama has ZERO experience AND he's not proud of his country (probably
because he had been brainwashed by his black-supremicist pastor.) He says one
thing one day and then changes his mind the next day. It's CRAZY that
anyone wants him to be president. McCain ain't all that great, either, but
fortunately most Americans have a brain and, when push comes to shove,
they'll be smart enough to vote for the person who's going to do the
least amount of damage. I'm sorry to say that person isn't Obama.

Mormons practice faith without reasoning, in what it relates to voting.
It is a great comodity to have a seer and revelator to give you direct and indirect advise about who to vote for.
Of course they think and beleive that they have free will to choose who to vote for.
Of course the LDS church use the media like any other big corporation.
We do not have a separation of the church and the state in utah, nor in any other states of USA.
Separation of the church and state it is just a USA myth.
It is a great comodity to have a seer and revelator to give you direct and indirect advise about who to vote for.

I did not vote for George Bush, Jr. when he ran for Governor of Texas, my home
State. Nor have I voted for him as President of the United States. I was
appalled at the fact that he was elected the first time and utterly dismayed the
second time. If you cannot see that it was Dick Chaney and Karl Rove running
our country then you need your eyes examined. They, along with Bush, Trent
Lott, Phil Graham, and a lot of others have led our Country down to the
bottomless pits of hell and I pray that Senator Obama will have the stamina to
bring it back up. I am heart sick over the way this country has been led. I
think we all need to fall on our knees and ask God, the creator of this earth,
for forgivness. This great country has become the laughing stock of the entire
world. I could write a book about the last seven years and it would all be bad.

Nobama: If you want specifics, look at Obama's website; he actually goes
into great detail about his plans and what he wants to do (Granted, that means
doing research instead of just listening to talk jocks, but still...) Oh, and
today's Gallup poll has Obama ahead by two points with a project five-point
bump after the convention. He's not done yet.
Jared: Believe it or not, most pro-choice people dislike abortion just as much as you do. That's why they usually support comprehensive sex-ed and access to a wide range of birth control. You know, things that'll actually prevent abortions. I know that I feel that abortion is a woman's business and that she doesn't need the government meddling in her personal life (Isnt' that what conservatives are supposed to believe?)

Let's think about this...Mormons are not to drink alcohol and are against
it as is evidenced by Utah's liquor laws yet would vote for a man whose
wife has made millions from beer... go figure

As a LDS member I will never forgive McCain and his mother for their attacks on
Romney and our faith. They are doing the same thing to Obama, demonizing a man
because he actually thinks for himself. McCain is no different then Edwards, if
you don't know what I mean look it up.

I don't remember McCain attacking Romney on his faith. Last I checked his mom isn't running for any office so I don't really care what a 90 year old woman thinks nor do I think McCain shares her views on that. Romney lost all by himself, you can try to blame it on bigotry if you like. The guy just flipped on too many positions in a short amount of time. I have nothing against Romney but his flips didn't come off as a sincere change of heart to me.
I would also like to mention that a lot of Romney supporters who posted on here during the primaries reminded me of Barrack supporters. They put their guy on a pedestal and all of a sudden looks, age and crap like the olympics and community organizer mean something and serving your country and experience is not too special. Just my observation

Yes, there do seem to be a lot of Obama voters here. But honestly, how many of
them acutally know what he stands for? They wear the pins, they post the signs,
but can't answer why they're voting for him. His whole campaign,
along with his voters, is all show and no substance.

To KJB: The Zogby poll released this morning has McCain up by 5 points in the
popular vote. The latest Battleground Poll, released this morning, has McCain
with 174 electoral votes--enough to be elected.

The headline today should be "McCain Supports the Draft!" When he was
talking Saturday night during the so called debate, he made a comment about
asking the young people to make the same sacrifice to their country that he
made. I turned to my daughter and her college roommate and said "That
sounded like he was talking about the draft." They agreed that that was
exactly what it sounded like.
Today in Las Cruses he confirmed it. A lot of the posters here seem pretty young. Maybe that is something that they should consider long and hard. It's a good thing all of you Mormans have been having so many children. Wow, a ready made army; endless wars galore!

Lots of stereotyping and name calling here. It's pretty interesting to
look at the policies of the two candidates on the issues. For example, how
would each plan affect the national debt and our current deficit. One party
argues that giving tax breaks to the wealthy are necessary to provide jobs.
Interestingly, job creation rates under Democratic presidents are much better
than under Republican candidates for the last 60 years. Under Clinton average
income rose $6000/yr. and under Bush average income fell $1200/yr. Benefit of
the tax cut gone even before the inflation began.
Same for all the other important issues. Pay attention to the real facts about policies. Do not let party loyalty interfere with the future of this country.

I used to be critical of Obama on his frustratingly vague hope and change
messages. Until I went to his website and read up on his policies. Scared the
crap out of me, no wonder the guy prefers to avoid any kinds of details!
I think that all McCain needs to do is attach some price tags to Obama's plans, and make sure middle class America knows that they WILL be footing some of the bill. I know someone's going to bring up the cost of the war, blah blah blah. At this point with that what's done is done and what's spent is spent. Was Bush fiscally irresponsible? Heck yeah! But just like Obama supporters I also have my eye on the future, and this fiscal conservative does not want taxes from her future paychecks going to Obama's psuedo-socialism agenda.

However, one really has to question the wisdom of those who send money to Obama. Bet a lot of them are California transplants. The rest are just uninformed or gullible.

John McCain is all about negative advertising just as "W" and Rove
were. He has no substance or vision to lead. My $$ and vote goes to Obama.
"Sheepeople"? Those were the fools who voted for "W". Look
what a mess that we are in. An endless war that never should have been started;
tax breaks for the very most wealthy; a deficit that will require years to
control; unemployment at a record high; gas prices; and on & on. We simply
cannot continue down this path. Is it any wonder that Obama leads in
conservative Utah with $$ donations??

Utah is Republican, and nobody with any amount of sense is going to vote for Obama, who by the way(I found this out yesterday) has a pretty shady record, worse than anything he has tried to pull on McCain, so I think with the Republicans, I mean, after all, they didn't bring the energy crisis, the Democrats did.

You're right, people can bank there money on the fact Obama won't
carry Utah. But I disagree with your "nobody with any amount of
sense" comment... I'd say it's the people who vote for McCain
who fall under that category, not the Obama voters.
Those who are smart will do the daring thing and vote for Obama, just to make their voice heard even if he stands no chance of carrying the state.
