someone said Reid was a Mormon? Are you sure? His pro-gay and pro-abortion votes made me believe otherwise. Clown prince harry's votes would not indicate he is a mormon to me.

I think Mitt Romney would make a great VP. That said, I don't think he's electable.

Way to go Mr. Davis. | 8:10 p.m. Aug. 16, 2008
Utah County needs a new kind of party like the one you are trying to establish: one that is more reasonable and accountable than the extremists in power, but more conservative than Democrats. I'm proud of the Utah County Dems for being different!

McCain's a fool if he picks anyone other than Romney. Two glaring and immense dilemmas in war and global economic slowdowns, and the GOP is positioned by having McCain's foreign policy gravitas and all that's missing is Romney to craft the economic and domestic policies. LOL, and up against Barack Obama who knows nothing of either, who is himself entertaining the radically changed idea of selecting 2004 loser and establishment character, John Kerry.

Romney or not, McCain's going to win this thing by 5 points. Let's pray he picks Mitt so we can have a hedge against any of the stupid things McCain tries to do from time to time in the Senate, should he try them from the Executive perch.

Mitt Romney is a true "Reagan" conservative and the very best choice for VP. The Demos fear him because he is squeeky clean - unlike some of their favorite sons, Clinton and Edwards.

Go Mitt !!!!!!!!!!!

Davis knows who butters his bread in Utah: LDS people who love Mitt Romney for no other reason than because he is LDS.

The only thing worse than partisan politics is religious corruption of politics.

Just FACTS. Romney is a highly educated, successful leader in business turning around floundering companies such as Staples, Clearwire, and Dominos. Donates millions of dollars of his money for charitable causes. Class valedictorian at BYU, MBA and LAW degree from Harvard. During Romneys governorship MAs economy went from deficit to surplus, balancing their budget in less than 4 years, becoming the first state with universal health care, official figures indicated that 200,000 previously uninsured residents gained health coverage, 45 percent drop in minimum premium costs and 34 percent reduction in uninsured. He lowered state taxes, raised fees, such as court filings and firearm licensing fees. Closed loopholes on corporate taxes. Increasing funding for education, Massachusetts students ranked #l in the nation in education during his term. Increased penalties on drunk driving. Never supported release of criminals. Took no salary at all as Governor. When the Salt Lake Olympics crumbled under financial disaster he took over for a dollar salary and made it profitable. Never first to bring up religion, Romney's been married to the same woman, values family first. Romney and his wife were awarded the Becket Fund's prestigious Canterbury Medal for "Courage in the Defense of Religious Liberty.

Huckabee, McCain, Obama, and Hillary are Al Gores favorites. Huckabee because he could sway evangelist over to global warming which would clinch us into a one world order. Gore also said in his cspan interview, that Bush and Cheney wasn't for his globalization. It appears that Mitt Romney isn't either. Are you? Think twice before you vote yourself into the harsh captivity of socialism.

If a republican got elected to the most liberal state in the country, he had to compromise his principles to get elected. Nuff said.

I think the Mormons have the right concerns but the wrong group which they lay the blame on. Granted that Huckabee is a bigot, but 98% of evangelicals would gladly pull the lever for a McCain-Romney ticket. The real devil and enemy is the Media which is trying to breed Mormophobia, and will grant immediate national attention to any no-name Evengelical which dislikes Romney. They are trying to breed Conservative resentment towards Romney that doesn't exist. Just watch Romney's CPAC address.

Adree said they "struggle with the pro-choice issues." Let me begin by saying every abortion is a failure, of common sense, of judgment, of economics, of science, etc. No woman is ever happy she has had an abortion. It is a tragic time for her, just ask anyone who has had one.

I am a Democrat and faithful member of the LDS Church. Have you ever read the 1973 proclaimation from the 1st presidency and David O. McKay's statements on abortion? First and foremost, NOT MURDER. Second, in cases of rape, incest, life and good health (including mental health) of the mother.

I am a Democrat because pro-choice allows the positions of our church to be lawful. Think about it, an abortion ban makes the stated position of the LDS Church an illegal option. The supposed "pro-life" position only protects the unborn, not the already living. Pro-choice allows for a pro-Agency stance.

Our politics should follow our religion, not vice versa.

If Mitt Romney were willing to compromise principle to win votes, he would have become a Southern Baptist before the Iowa Primary. By sticking to his membership in the LDS Church, Romney has demonstrated that he is able to take an unpopular stand and stick with it through thick and thin. Note also that Barney Frank and Democrats are attacking Romney for being TOO CONSERVATIVE! That is a recommendation for most Republicans.
The attacks on Romney from Huckabee supporters have claimed they are bothered by two things (1) their uncertainty that his opposition to gay marriage is not really sincere and (2) his Mormonism! Apparently the Baptists haven't noticed that Mormons are in the forefront of opposing gay marriage, including Romney's efforts in Massachusetts to limit the state Supreme Court ruling.

Except that Mitt Romney is not a Utahn and should not be counted as such. Just because you are LDS does not make you a Utahn. (wink to Orrin)
