Are you on Medicare?
Is anyone in your family on those programs?
If so, I'm sure you'll be willing to cut out ALL participation and support yourself/themselves?
And I repeat the words of the comment from 1:40 AM. Where is the evidence of his conservative views on financial issues? I would suggest the Dnews do a follow-up and climb into the votes and bills sponsored by Sen McCoy. If he has conservative fiscal values it would be a rare thing...for a State Senator that is.
Government debt at all levels is a far more major issue than ones personal views on sexuality right now. I read an article regarding the number of small cities and counties that may default on their bonds due to the number of homes being foreclosed on. Remember, bonds are loans to cities, counties, etc that are repaid by property taxes. If large numbers of homes are foreclosed on, and property taxes are reduced.
We are in for a rough ride and if Sen McCoy wants to talk the line on true fiscal conservatism, he better start walking it. Someone in the Senate had!
"More D-News pro-Demo fluff," fiscal conservatism is not just cutting taxes. It's not running up a huge government credit card bill, like so many so-called conservatives have. It's paying off that credit card. National Republicans have run up such a huge debt, their successors are going to have to raise taxes just to keep US bonds from losing their AAA rating.
Scott tried hard to keep the Utah constitution from being trashed. That's the most conservative thing I've seen of any politician since I moved here. He failed, unfortunately.
I too have been in both political parties here in Utah. I have met a lot of wonderful admirable people in both parties. We have some great public officials who come from all walks of life. I think its important in a very partisan world to stop and consider the things that bind us together rather than just the things we differ on.
Boy and I bet dollars to doughnuts that Bob Bernick supports the fairness doctrine for radio. What complete BS!
