GO Utah!!!!
I enjoy watching both styles of play, and I am excited to see the Utes use the TE for more pass play.
That is just another weapon in the Utah offense that is going to be very hard to stop.
Quit posting comments about yourself. We know it's you. Any Utah fan that has seen you play (minus you and your family) would not be saying that you are an animal. You are just another average walk-on white kid with limited skills. And this is coming from a hard core Ute fan.
Sorry, but it's the truth. Had LaPorte been on the team this year, you'd be relegated to the scout team. Why do you think the coaches went so hard after juco help at TE. Two words--- UPGRADE TALENT.
--You are just another average walk-on white kid with limited skills. And this is coming from a hard core Ute fan.-- That is classic! We all know that you are some pasty white Utard yourself. And it doesn't qualify you as a hard core fan just because you wear a cheerleader's uniform around your house.
Sampson has put the time in and he is dedicated to the Utes. I guarantee you are not going to find a better blocking tight end this year. And since the Ute coaching staff is too retarded to realize that you can throw to a tight end, then Sampson is clearly the right choice.
AND that's coming from a hard core Ute fan, so see you at the game. I'll be the one cheering for Sampson!
I admit that Colt is an above average blocker, and is decent in goal line situations. However, he is not "an animal, a monster, awesome, or a giant." Only a direct relative or someone with more than casual interest would say those things about a blocking TE.
The fact is that Utah's coaches have made an emphasis of bringing in some elite talent at the TE spot. Colt, while being a proficient blocker, is not the elite all-around talent that the team needs at the position. Anyone who does not have an agenda would agree.
Ok expert, Colt caught three td passes two years ago and has caught EVERY ball that has been thrown at him. Also, you admit yourself that he is an "above average" blocker. SO what else does he need to make him an "elite talent"? Maybe what you should do is point your expertise at the coaching staff and ask them why the hell they don't pass to their TE's more. Because if they did, I guarantee you that Sampson would be in the elite class of TE's.
Apparently your main problem is that people are calling him an animal, or a giant, etc... And this seems to ruffle your feathers. Well, I think you're a giant too. There, do you feel better? Is your childhood dream fulfilled?
Sampson is clearly the best choice for this year. Next year they can rebuild the position.
And until the retarded coaches realize that the TE is also a receiver, you will NEVER get a top 15 draft pick to come to UofU like you want.
The point I'm trying to make is that he is not the type of TE that is going to run a 30 yard seam pattern that shreads a cover 2 defense. Utah's coaches know what they have in Colt, and that is why he blocks and catches open 5 yards arrow/shark/out patterns. Nothing against Colt- he does what is asked of him- but he does not have the talent to be more than what he has been the last two years.
