Romney was my first choice in the primaries. I'd love to see him on the McCain ticket.

Anyone notice that the Dems are running scared? Tee hee. Can't even wait until the VP is announced. Well, I can't think of one VP that will keep the Obama Messiah up in his clouds once the onslaught of ads starts and we learn who he REALLY is, rather than who he wants us to think he is. Obama is a phony!

I'll probably be holding my nose on election day. However, IF there is a McCain/Romney ticket I will be able to breath freely as I cast my vote. An Obama presidency would be devastating to not only the US but the world. A McCain presidency (at its worst) would be light years better. Romney would actually make a better president than McCain. The comments from "Outstanding Politician Barney", etc. sounds like the Dems are a wee bit worried!!! Romney has integrity, always in short supply with most politicians.

Romney's flip flops make him look like typical politician, common in both parties, including Rep. Jay Inslee from WA state. I wonder who the DNC would like McCain to choose for running mate instead of Romney? After all, they helped pick McCain as the GOP nominee, and he's done pretty well so far.

Any time a far-left Liberal or self-declared Socialist say something about any Republican or Conservative politician (or anything else for that matter) they should start their diatribe with either: "You know I've done this in the past too, but..." OR "You know I'm in favor of taxing the crap out of my constituents, increasing the Federal bureaucracy, and doing everything I can to block helping Americans with high energy prices but...".

Interesting, Obama's "people" set up a site just to attack Romney? Could it be that people are starting to actually evaluate Obama's positions and need a distraction? Obama has so many changing positions....I'm still waiting to hear when those middle class tax cuts are going to take effect....like tax the rich except, Obama said "they won't be paying those higher taxes until 10 years from now." I love being a senior citizen and seeing all the things Obama is going to do to/for/against me. I'm just hoping he doesn't promise the 40 and unders that he will cut Medicare costs by ethanizing seniors who cannot pay their way and end up costing taxpayers too much. Remember he alone stood up to do that to late babies who survive botched abortions so who's to say he won't put us old folks down the same? Obama is like the mirrors on a merry-go-round ...kind of makes you sick if you watch it too much.

A Republican strategist on MSNBC's Hardball just stated that his pick for VP is Mitt Romney. It's not just wishful thinking in Utah, but may actually be a reality in a couple of weeks. As people get to know Mitt Romney they will realize the strengths that he offers and religious fears will melt away. There will always be bigots who will never give it up, but most will get over it.

The main reason Democrats are afraid of Romney is that he can read a contract and spot perks, graft and greed. As head of the Senate, Romney will take out his red pencil and underline waste and corruption and bring it to the attention of the Senate floor before they vote.

Veeps generally do very little by way of administration of government affairs. They make no laws (Congress's job). He's basically there to take over as pres, and to break a tie in the Senate, if needed.

It's actually quite comforting to see this, as a Romney supporter. He obviously is both seriously likely to be chosen as the VP candidate, and also seems to have the democrats running scared.

Think about it. McCain hasn't even picked his VP candidate yet, and the mere possibility that it could be Romney has the dems launching a full scale pre-emptive assault on him.

There's only one reason for the urgency and vitriol of the dems' attacks on Romney, and that's fear.

With all due respect to Senator McCain, I believe the party missed the boat by failing to nominate Gov. Romney for President. I have watched his career from his days shepherding the Olympics in Salt Lake. His achievements involving health care in Mass. were impressive. He has a strong understanding and talent for commerce and economy and I think would be looked upon as a strong leader by nations around the globe. I am hopeful that he will be asked to join the ticket as V.P. this time and will then run again for the Presidential nomination.

Because if you're not joking you're suffering from an extremely acute case of selective memory.

Go look at the interview in which McCain's mother said she was suspicious of Mormons, etc and you will see that John McCain IMMEDIATELY (and I mean it was LITERALLY less than 2 seconds) interjected that his mother's opinions were not necessarily his own. His mother insulted a rather large block of mountain west Republicans and he distanced himself from her comments faster than a liberal would run out of Rush Limbaugh's studio!

How in the heck can you liberals ignore such realities or sleep at night?

Romney is the guy who bought your company and sent the jobs overseas...no joke! Please look up Bain capital (his company)....BIG STUFF.

He even tried to partner with the chinese to buy out maytag! Guess where those jobs were going?

His health care revolution here in Ma (I live here) pays FULL health insurance for folks who own 1/2 million dollar houses and multiple cars (no means test!).....and is already going broke! But it does give money to health care and drug companies that HIS COMPANY owns!

It really amazes me that folks vote for a corporation dressed up as a human......this guy stands for NOTHING except enriching himself by destroying YOU.

Also, it's interesting that when Romney shifts positions it's 'intellectual dishonesty.' When Bill Clinton does it, it's 'triangulation'.

I am a Massachusetts Republican who has witnessed, first hand, Mr. Romney as a politician. He is not a bad man, but, he surrounds himself and depends far too heavily on Mormons and Harvard grads for guidance and policy implementation. The result has consistently been, too smart by half; his solutions were always oriented to primarily "look" effective. His claim to have balanced the budget without raising taxes is a complete misrepresentation. He raised nearly every fee imaginable on the backs of: small businesses, gun owners, and trades; and then used "flexible" accounting to handle the difference. He is very slick and aware of how to hide blemishes. In order to pass an oppressive ï¿½universalï¿½ healthcare program (to sell as a success on his national stage) he sold out to the homosexual lobby and democratically controlled legislature, to institute gay marriage as the trade-off. It is unfortunately true that public service takes a way-back seat to his political gain; watch out.

Wow, this is quite the thread y'all go going on here! Mitt is the man and I really hope McCain picks him. He is so awesome. His dad really did march with MLK you know. They have written about it, but could get very little media attention. The demanded a media (and others) apology for Mitt and his dad, but of course they never got one.

One of the women said she was in the beauty shop and looked out and they were coming down the road marching. She went outside and there was then Governor Romney and MLK holding hands. She said alot of people went and joined in and they marched along. I thought it sounded pretty cool. People still keep wanting to make Mitt out as a liar though for some reason.

The difference between Mitt and Obama is that we know he is a successful business man and has a voting record that is public record.

You show me a person who refuses to look objectively at important issues, weight the facts and make an intelligent decision based on those facts and I will show you a Democrate!!

Mitt has forgot more about the economy than Obama could ever began to know. He's the perfect balancing act to McCain.
