I have no confidence in the Avenues Community Council since they bully people
with no fear of repurcussion. They certainly do not represent me as a resident.

As an individual with an ownership interest in property in the avenues, I would
have to agree with Mirror. One of the things that came out in the audit was
that the City needed to dictate how the community councils were to interact with
the government, but nothing has been done on that front. Remember, the
community councils have aided in creating the perceived dysfunction, as stated
in the planning audit. The avenues want a special notice of each and every
permit that comes into the city, including routing building permits. Want to
remodel your basement, better tell the avenues first.

I agree with the previous posts. I recently added a garage to my home in the
avenues and went through the appropriate process to get a permit. Since the
permit was for work that is appropriate to the area, it's no one
else's business what I did. They should be paying more attention to the
homes that are allowed to totally disintegrate, or rentals with absentee
slumlords that don't put a dime back into the property.

I agree. I'd like to see more consistency in enforcement of existing laws,
but not more restrictive red tape and addl approvals from the neighborhood
busybodys, who are themselves dysfunctional. For instance I think it would be
helpful to distinguish between new construction and remodel/maintenance of
existing buildings in the aves. Down with the GACC!
