I am the real Utefan. Stop immitating. I am actually starting to get excited about this project. It has taken a while, but it really seems like this will be good for everyone. I may even cheer for the home team.

..can't wait to get out of RES. This new stadium will bring many new fans and faces to the game. A very exciting time indeed.

...I will be attending games in the new stadium. I have refused to show up to any matches due to the horrible surface and atmosphere that has existed at Rice Eccles. I know there are many more soccer purists out there like me that have been waiting patiently for this beauty to open.

Yes, the seats are comfortable, and all have chair-backs, no 2nd rate bleachers in this baby. I doubt it will matter, as most of us will be standing/cheering/screaming/singing most of the match anyway.

Bouncy House? | 1:35 p.m. Aug. 6, 2008
Maybe before the game at Carnival Real.
Or maybe in one of the Luxury sweets. Man those things are nice...I wish I had the cash to get my tickets in there.

To all futbol elitists/purists | 3:44 p.m. Aug. 6, 2008
Enjoy the new pitch down in Sandy. I am ecstatic that the sacred ground of RES will no longer have yellow paint desecrating it. I wish that the elitist mentality of US soccer fans would go away. I think the average sports fan would be more willing to go to games or follow MLS, Premier League, and World Cup action if he/she didn't have to put up with sports snobs. I don't look down on people that don't know what a 6-4-3 double play is in baseball, or what the cover 2 defense is in football. Enjoy the game for what it is.

You label all of us soccer fans under one type. Just because a few people are rude, doesn't mean all soccer fans are like that. I love football and soccer. I don't bash other sports, and I respect people's choices to not like soccer or any sport for that matter. Just try going to a game in the new stadium. If you don't like it after that, I respect your choice.

Congrats on the new stadium, looks like a state of the art facility. Enjoy and make sure you have 20K game in and game out!!!MLS and professional soccer in the US is well on its way of becoming a top 3 professional sport in the country. In fact, as of now, MLS has higher average attendance than NBA and NHL...
Maybe Salt Lake can play more than 2 games in the new stadium this year: they are top of their division, and if they keep it up, considering that the West is by far the weaker conference(Houston as the only solid team), they may get to the MLS final.

Apparently, Real Salt Lake told out-of-contract Sweden star Freddie Ljungberg "Thanks, but no thanks" when informed of his salary request...

...Source?

I don't see how Freddy would be looking at Salt Lake, when clubs such as Lazio and AC Milan are asking for his services. This is rubbish.
