Just with the fact that we have oil and we can us it, that would lower the price of gas, one of the other writers established that.
Even if it won't have a big impact on prices until a later date in time we still need to act now, that way, eventually we will have lower prices. We can't just say we won't put in the effort because it will take too long, that doesn't work, and its not the American way to give up.
We have to start drilling, now!
He shouldn't be protesting a LEGAL and century old tradition of taking this summer break because the Republican actually stalled the Dems answer to getting high gasoline prices down, but should break with the ranks and show the American people that he can be honest, truthful and integrious about the issue.
Fact is the Republicans just don't want to hold the big oil companies and their man in the white house (Chenney) accountable for filthy lucre profits while gouging the American's at the pump through the insidious 'futures trading' of oil like pork belly trading. Anything that makes bug-business accountable is simply slam dunked down by Repbulicans. Republicans are actually making economic war against working middle-class Americans. It's that simple!
Utah needs to sweep all the damn Republican caucus out of office over the next 3 years and put Democrats, that hold traditional "majority" Utah values (instead of the elitists values of the current crop of Republicans) in D.C. to better represent the common-sense values Utahns are noted for.
Hey, Bishop and the Republicans have a good point, why should the congressional politicians go on a 5 WEEK VACATION while we have to suffer through these oil prices because the Democrats won't agree on anything.
Democrats don't support Utah values, so don't go off campaigning for them. Demos won't win in Utah, not unless they have a major ideal transformation.
Oil Companies aren't responsible for this, its OPEQ, they are the ones we buy the oil from, and they are rising it, I have read enough on this to know that.
Stop spreading your lies, you just want to attack a group of people that don't share your beliefs, that is all you did in your letter.
Face it. The republicans are just as much to blame for these oil prices as the democrats.
Where was Rob Bishop during all of these congressional energy debates? Did he even participate in the debates? I don't recall reading anything about this. And now Rob Bishop is in the public eye after news coverage of him planning to return to D.C. to protest and wave the American flag with his fellow republicans.
Even if the chamber microphones and ceiling lights were operational, these congressmen would still be in the dark.
We can blame the politicians all we want, but they were simply doing what they thought their constituents wanted them to do. So if you really want to blame someone, blame all of the dumb masses that bought into the extreme environmentalist propaganda that was being broadcast throughout the 80s and 90s. It was those decisions that have left us in this mess where we are now dependent on foreign oil.
Um, President HAS done something, he lifted the off shore drilling ban, and we are just waiting for Congress to act. Don't be so quick to attack the president, hes done more then people give him credit for.
I disagree with what you said, and don't tell me what I know or don't know!
I know that drilling in America will not only help our oil prices but also creat jobs!
You have NO FACTS TO BACK YOU UP! All you just did was criticize me, and insult me!
If you can find a better solution, be my guest and go after it, but I just don't see it. Solar and electric cars cost way too much and are not worth it. Hydrogen has the same problem.
Stop insulting and try and actually come up with a reasonable solution!
