great comments guys | 9:32 p.m. Aug. 4, 2008
I love all the crystal balls that people have. Lets look back and see who BYU would have lost too without players X, Y, and Z, yup pretty clear stuff. Really hard to argue with you on that one. BYU fans calm down and don't give in to the trolls. realize that half of what is said on these threads is just plain ridiculous and you give validity to incompetent statements by arguing. Don't fall for it, we all know BYU won the last 2 and had better records. Who cares.

Unga was AWESOME against EVERYONE but UCLA last year. UCLA is onto Unga. It will be interesting to see what he can do this year against UCLA.

YEWTS! Quit the whining and try to start winning! I wonder how many times they will clutch defeat from the jaws of victory this year.
Get your resume ready Kyle. If you choke away victories like Air Force and BYU again this year, you could be headed for the unemployment line this year. BYU had just as many injuries as you did last year and they didn't cry...the just reloaded. Injuries are a part of the game. Actually I thing the Utes and Cougars did a fine job last year filling in for the injuries they suffered. The Y just had better backups in place. Maybe this year it will be the utes who have better luck.

The Cougs will be tough to handle with him in the backfield.

Re: Alma the Wiser

If we only count actual starters on our injury lists, (btw, Vakapuna WAS a starter, til he was injured and Unga took his place and broke Frosh MWC records) then how, "Alma", did Utah have 51 starters injured?

Okay kids it's time to stop drinking those energy drinks. As a BYU fan I have followed the Cougars throughout the Lavell Edwards era through today. I have also followed the Utes program. One thing about these two program is certain. Until these two teams can consistently beat teams from the more recognized program, (and not just those teams at the bottom of their conferences) they will never be considered truly elite program. So I say go Cougs and go Utes. It's time these two teams started to be recognized as being more than just the two top prams of the MWC.
Blah blah blah | 12:43 a.m. Aug. 5, 2008
I know Alma the Wiser is talking, but all I hear is blah blah blah and a boatload of hypotheticals that have nothing to do with reality. If if if if if if........How about you get a grip on what is REAL so that you don't look quite so pathetic in your attempt to argue the facts that BYU won the MWC and beat Utah the last two years......who cares who had worse injuries. Our backups were better than yours. What is your point? If red were blue then there would be no U of U! How's that for a hypothetical that actually doesn't make me sick to my stomach!!!!!

How is Unga doing with the Honor Code this year?

"We suffered some unexpected injuries and we are a young team. How can you expect us to compete?" That may not have been the exact quote that Crowton used week after week, but that is what it sounded like.

Injuries and youth are a part of college football. You cannot rely on one player to build a team around. However, I hope that the only loss either team suffers this year is on November 22, and I hope it is a very close game like we have enjoyed the last three years.

Judging where the Utes and the Cougars are sitting to start the season, that could very well mean a BCS bowl for both and a chance to put the MWC on the map big time. Especially if they both win.

The Utes beating Michagan and OSU will go a long way toward proving that both BYU and U of U are ligit. Same thing with BYU and UCLA and Washington.

Go Cougars!!!
Go Utes!!!
Re: Well . . . . | 9:09 a.m. Aug. 5, 2008
They didn't lose 51 startERs to injury, they lost 51 STARTS to injury.

Brian Johnson - 3 starts
Brent Casteel - 11 starts
Matt Asiata - 12 starts
Utes. | 3:25 p.m. Aug. 13, 2008
Ute fans have nothing to look forward to except for the BYU game. Maybe if you spent your season preparing for other games, you'd help the MWC to stop looking like second class.
