For those of us struggling historians, the digitizing of newspapers worldwide has been a real boon. Naturally, the problem is that media reports are often quite flawed, even fatally so. Nonetheless, it helps us get a sense of popular perspective in evaluating history.

When I get time to search this site more, I may actually find stories that support or undermine my observations to date that my early ancestors who joined the LDS church in Europe didn't have a clue as to what they were getting themselves into.

?? This digital archive has been available for several years (at least 5) for private subscription or for free use at the Family History Library, the Church History Library, and at UofU and BYU and other institutions. I mean, it's a great tool, and I've used it many, many times, but it's hardly a new thing.

And when will the deseret news digitize? Going back to 1988 doesn't cut it.
