Nader says Obama disappointing

Nader supporters rightly reject the spoiler label. The bipartisan War Party knows how to conduct spoiler-free elections through ranked-choice voting, Google "FairVote" for more information, but favors cheating the citizens out of fair elections instead.

And according to Dave Leip's Atlas of U.S. Presidential Elections, Libertarian candidate Bob Barr is on the ballot in 34 states, and Ralph Nader is on the ballot in 8 states.

Mr. Nadar is the fellow who, in 2000, said that George Bush and Al Gore were Tweedledee and Tweedledum. Events have certainly proved him wrong. While Mr. Nadar was a force for good in the 1960s, he has declined significantly in wisdom, credibility and stature since then, unfortunately. I really do not believe that anything he says is newsworthy these days.

@Colin - I'm sorry to say that the Dems have been complicit in the most extreme tragedies of this administration. Nader wouldn't need to run, if the candidates didn't represent such empty politics, and false hope for our country.

Please compare the issues the candidates have to offer. A two party system has degraded our country, and multi-party systems in other countries have improved them. We need proportional representation in congress, not a corrupt two party system that decides oppositon is not allowed in our presidential debates.

As a conservative who wants less government, not more government, and fewer and lower taxes, not more and higher taxes, I'm glad to see that Rocky is supporting Nader, whose votes will come from mostly liberal voters who otherwise would vote for Obama. As an environmentalist, I support fact-based initiatives that significantly conserve and improve our environment; and I believe that both McCain and Obama will support measures that will improve our air and water quality. However, I'm not an environmental wacko who believes all the drivel put out by the environmental extremists who are quick to accept the worst of junk science if it tends to support their agenda. I believe we can utilize this world's resources in a way that preserves quality of life, and simply locking up our resources or ignoring the realities of the world, such as our current need for oil, is naive and stupid. McCain has not demonstrated to me that he is capable of or determined to reduce illegal immigration, and I think he is as dull as Dole, but I'm convinced he will do his best to cut deficit spending while declining to raise taxes, so I must vote for him.

Nader bears great responsibility for giving us "W" in 2000, who has become the worst president in American history. He is an egotistical dinosaur whose only contributions to the world are three and four decades old. I am amazed that anyone pays any attention to him any more. I guess P.T. Barnum is still right.

If there is anyone who deserves to be President of our nation, it is certainly Ralph Nader. A courageous fighter for public health, safety,well being as well as the rule of law and Constitutional integrity for 40+ years, there is no one who even comes close to his proven record.
What does McCain offer instead? Continuation of failed Bush foreign and domestic polices on most grouds.Promoting middle east violence and war, promoting toture, tax breaks for the wealthiest 1%,fiscal irresponsibilty, throwing away jobs to China and India, insourcing illegals, failing to protect our border from invasion.
What does Obama offer instead? Failure to abide by public financing pledge, failure to fillabuster and oppose retroactive immunity for Telecoms, promise to bomb Pakistan w/o Congressional approval, continuation of the jobs stealing WTO and NAFTA policies.
No. I'm sorry that's not good enough for you or me or our nation. We deserve better. Reelecting the same tired parties with new or familiar faces only guarantees the status quo protectionism and change will be avoided.
Ralph will rebuild and reform our broken government, and make it work for the good of our nation.Only Ralph has the proven record and integrity to fix our nation.

A vote for Nader is not a vote for McCain. In 2000, a vote for Nader was not a vote for Bush. A vote for Nader is a vote for Nader. Ralph is going to do it again, folks, so get over it. And you know what? He should upset the political balance that right now is tilted towards the corporations and the fat-cat lobbyists.

I had the honor to have campaigned for Nader/Gonzalez last month! All of those hours were worth it to get the best candidates on the ballot. You can bet I won't be wasting my vote on a Democrat or Rupublican again. I've learned my lesson and did my homework and know how corrupt both entrenched parties are and the longer we vote for them, the more they will continue to have free rein to ignore the American people and make the corporations richer and be first on the political agenda. We need a radical shift in thinking and to revamp the political system inside and out.

To all you Democrats and Republicans who vote mindlessly and blindly according to party allegiances, your arguments against Nader running are tired and old. Only a moron would argue against someone running for office in a democracy, unless they don't really believe in democracy. If the standard for insanity is doing the same thing over and expecting a different outcome, then the real insane people are supporters of the 2 parties who keep voting Democrats and Republicans into office and expecting them to care about people. They only care about one thing: keeping power to themselves and their corporate interests. Stop voting like mindless zombies. Vote outside the box. Vote for someone who cares, and his record proves it. Vote Nader 2008!

Gore couldn't even stand up to power interests to hold onto his presidency. When he was told to drop it by party rulers, he did. It would be wrong to blame Gore's loss on the fact that some people chose another (and I think better) option. If I thought that way, than Gore and Bush "spoiled" Nader's win. I did fight for Gore though, and when I saw him publicly concede the win to Bush, even though there was proof of obstructions, still questionable counts and more, I decided Gore was a spineless twig. Looking back, if he couldn't stand up 5 minutes to retain his presidency, I don't think he would have stood up to the interests that wanted the wars.

Obama was put promoted to serious candidacy by Rockefeller and Brzezinski last year, founders of modern economic Imperialism, and it's like he's subtly deflecting civil rights and anti-war arguments to repay them. I would sadly vote McCain before Obama, if forced, but thank God for Nader giving us a serious alternative.

Why doesn't anyone blame the idiots that voted for Bush for the the horrible mess we are in. Stop using Nader as a convenient scapegoat. As far as I'm concerned there should be many choices for the highest office in the land, not just bad choice and worse choice.

I voted for Nader in 2000 for the same reason I'll vote for him today. Gore lost votes because he was a corporate lackey. AS VP he could of fallen on his sword and demanded Clinton signed Kyoto.... but for 8 years he did nothing (after he made a movie...wow.) I want to support a candidate who shares my political value and end the grip corporations have on our government and democracy. That candidate is Nader. I want an end to the Iraq War, not a 5-year drw down with troops remaining in place for decades after. That candidate is Nader. I want an energy policy that is not driven by the energy giants and that candidate is Nader. I want to preserve social security with a fair contribution system. Right now I pay 6% of 100% of my dollars into the system. A person who make $9 million a year pays 6% of 1% of their dollars....I want a fair system of taxes and contributions...that candidate is Nader. I do not want to vote for the lesser of two evils. A wated vote is one not cast or one cast for the lesser of two evils.
