Mine disaster offers argument for cooperation

Mine owners and government over sight is good and a help, but the miners
themselves have to have some authority and responsiblity in mine safety and
labor laws. This requires that the mines be unionized or converted to
cooperatives. Until then the power of capital greed rules and labor is just
another cost factor and USA mines are little different than those in China where
life is a cheap and expendable commondity.
