The political pressure is on in Arizona to do something. Texas now has five or so statutory rape cases. Supposedly, there are fifteen more statutory rape cases that occurred in other jurisdictions (Arizona or Utah) and that are of females who are now adults.

It's clear that the evidence is overwhelming. Maybe there is a need for a federal task force to fund a project to organize it!

I can understand that Texas is overwhelmed and wants to identify its own cases first before others have a whack at the evidence. However, the evidence certainly covers crimes committed in other jurisdictions. Arizona would be best served by changing the law requiring victims to testify in all rape cases, as it appears Texas is trying those cases on hard evidence and not victim testimony.

Keep pushing it, violating peoples rights. In the end, polygamy will be dicriminalized.

Violating peoples rights? I didn't know that forcibly marrying and raping young children was a "right". How about the rights of those children? Those are the rights you should be worried about.

I do agree with you in that polygamy should decriminalized. That way the state will recognize these marriages and these leaches will stop bleeding the state welfare system. However I'm sure they'll never decriminalize statutory rape. So keep dreaming on that one.

Has anybody ever thought about how to force somebody to get married? How does that happen? How do you force somebody to get married? It is either "I do" or "I don't". How is there any force? The only way I can think of forcing marriage would have to be done by somebody qualified by the state to perform marriages like a judge, holding a gun to your head with a marriage certificate in front of you telling you to sign or else... How can anyone force anyone to get married? Sounds nice for the prosecuters, but it isn't reality.

The Catholic Church covered up child abuse and noone compared them with La Cosa Nostra. Even if there is some child abuse in the FLDS, they are not the Gambino family. The biggest problem with cracking down polygamy is that they hurt the very people, i. e. women and children, they say want to help. Look at El Dorado.

re - force? 12pm

you have obviously not been raised in an environment that removes free will.

try it some time. it's ugly, and a major doctrine of the FLDS. Why do you think they even have followers anymore? No one in their right mind would put up with all the rediculous lifestyle unless brainwashed from birth into believing it.

They don't have new followers? Sorry but you are WAY LOST!
realitycheck | 3:26 p.m. July 25, 2008
you need to actually read what I said. The only reason thay have ANY followers is because they indoctrinate the children starting at birth.

of course they have new followers. they keep giving birth to them....

if they have actual adults that convert, then that's just because no one else wanted them. Anyone can get perverts to join the pervert club if no one else want them. what don't you get?
