Wishing Upon a Store | 1:26 a.m. July 25, 2008
This article sounds bizzare. I didn't know that there was a list of chain stores and that every community is supposed to have one of each.

Between the lines the article is saying that the economy is pretty bad, stores have been closing, but we want stores on our list to move in so we can check them off our list.

There are already too many chain stores everywhere and many of them are not doing well. The economy is contracting. There are TOO MANY houses, chain stores and strip malls.
Empty boxes? | 7:05 a.m. July 25, 2008
Layton has a long way to go to catch up with Sandy when it comes to big empty stores.

While I agree that Layton shouldn't be so eager for empty chain stores, they really need a Whole Foods store up there. I live in SLC, but work in Ksville and it would be nice to have some healthy alternatives up there, but I don't think anyone really eats healthy up there, based on what's available in stores now. :(

Layton doesn't need more trashy big-box stores. We're surrounded by them.

We COULD use some quality, though.

Give us a Whole Foods, a Trader Joe's, a Nordstrom to replace the Ogden store -- enough ORIGINALITY to keep us shopping at home. How about a Granato's?

If I can get it delivered free from amazon.com, we don't need a physical store in Layton.

Wake up.

Layton really needs an electronic store. I have to drive to Riverdale to go to Best Buy or FYE and riverdale road is horrible to drive anywhere on.
