**....the new law, if passed, would still cut down on the number of dangerous situations caused most often by teenagers who display the devices in public.**

So are we as a society completely done thinking?

No, the new law would not cut down on anything. It might increase the need to educate people on responsible use of toy projectile *weapons* so as to avoid the unintended consequence of their unwise use. Why not skip the new law and just get on with the education? Teach people young and old about the legal and natural causes of foolish actions.

There are already laws against damaging the property of others and threatening or harming their person. This law is unnecessary and foolish. While the opportunity to add one more category of fine for fleecing the public certainly appeals to the political mind, I would hope that the South Jordan City Council will wisely choose to say no to this nonsense.

these so called toy guns are almost identical to real guns. some foolish child is going to pay a high price for brandishing it in public and getting shot by a police officer or private individual with a ccw permit. the small orange tips are hard to see and some fall off. these toy manufacturers have no ethics and are after pure profit.

SO now, a little boy can not put on a hat and holster and play cowboys. Seems a real shame.
