We have a K-Mart in Provo, one time I had to go buy something their, I was really disapointted in the store, The floors looked liked they have not been cleaned for over 6 months, The shelves were low on everything they gave me the rundown "we will get it in next week," I am tired of that line. I had two wait in line for about 20 minutes, I will never shop at K-mart again,
I once went with a friend who lived on the west side to the W-M located on 13th South, I thought the meat product were an odd color, not old but a unnatural red color. My friend bought her kids clothes that were poorly made and I asked her why she shopped her -"Oh the people are so friendly and the prices are cheap". I can't imagine you save money on clothes that fall apart in a short time and who knows what was done to that meat.
Wal-Mart will hurt stores like Tire Buys, Albertsons, Dan's and many of the stores in Foothill Village. Thankfully, I don't have to shop on a budget and therefore I will never set foot in a Wal-Mart east or west side again.
Wal-Mart was aware of the zoning when they bought the property, and should not expect to be able to have it changed just for them.
