Hopefully the VP candidate will be Bobby Jindal...36yo Reagan!

Wow! What a cliff-hanger. This was set up when Romney withdrew early from the primaries. In November, the talking heads can disect Mormonism and its role in why McCain wasn't elected.

Who cares? They are both corrupt.

"Will Romney be named McCain's VP this week?"

No. At least I hope not. Doing so would seriously hurt whatever chance McCain may have to win the election.

There is no way this is going to happen, and the only place we are seeing that Romney will be VP is in our local papers.

I anticipate alot of religious bigotry to seep out from people if McCain does indeed choose Romney, who already has enough flaws as-is. Romney will only help McCain win Michigan, if that. Otherwise, people will see his flip-flops on myriad issues as a weakness that McCain hasn't complimented with his own consistency - because he's shown little. Florida Governor Charlie Crist would be a better choice if McCain wants to win.

Mr. McCain must want my vote afterall! The only way he would get it would be to include Mitt on the ticket. I believe that the ticket should include at least one person qualified to be president. Anyone else besides Mr. Romney would mean that my father will receive another vote for president this year as a write-in candidate. I will always try to vote for someone at least qualified to be president. All my regards to Ms Clinton and Mr. Obama but no vote!

Any bets on this? I'll wager 10 virtual dollars it's not Romney. I think Romney would be perfect for McCain, but don't think McCain has the forsight or charactor to see it. So I'll wager another 10 virtual dollars he picks Rick Santorum.

Justice for GOP victims | 10:49 a.m. July 22, 2008
Why not Romney?

Use McCain's failing campaign to transfer millions in campaign funds as a reward to the last remaining loyal LDS Republicans, who work in a significant portion of the call centers and direct mail operations on behalf of the GOP.

The rest of the country will support Obama, and upon his inauguration the U.S. Department of Justice will begin extraditing Republicans from their spider holes in the Beehive State to a venue where they can be held accountable for enabling the misdeeds of the Bush administration for the past eight years.

This is pure political theatre. He's trying to divert attention from Obama's international tour.

Instead of giving us cheap theatrics (Will he pick Mitt? I really hope so!), why doesn't he hold a press conference on how he plans to fix the economy, health care, and the problems in the Middle East? Surely this is more pressing than the American Idol contest for VP.

It really doesn't matter | 10:57 a.m. July 22, 2008
I pray not. Does it really matter? A republican isn't getting elected. You can think those who voted for Bush for killing Mitt's changes. Dream on.

I wont vote for a Mormon. We have witnessed, in California, that members of the LDS Church get the instructions how to vote from the church.

I lived in Utah. I hate nanny government.

Wise the man McCain is if Romney as his VP he picks. Romney the best possible candidate for VP is. Dialogue beyond religion to more serious issues as November approaches has moved. Wild-eyed liberals nervous about Romney's conservative credentials will be for months. Middle America elections always win, and McCain/Romney the day will carry. Timing this week for announcement perfect is. Unconvincing as world leader Obama seems to be while Iraq he is in.

I think Romney is just what he needs, but it does make me nervous that they are going to play all the bad things that Romney said about him during the primary.

CNN has almost the same story except they are predicting it will be Jindal. So sorry to those of you who blindly pledged allegiance to Mr. Romney. Maybe next time.

I agree. We can't even hope for a worthy presidential candidate from the republican or democratic ticket this term unless miraculoulsly the people vote for another candidate in majority numbers.

Mitt would be the right choice for the GOP ticket, however the Vice Presidency has often been the political cemetary for politicians...such as Dan Quayle, Al Gore, Spiro Agnew, Walter Mondale. We need Mitt in 2012, whether he's on the 2008 ticket or not.

Oh, please no! If there's one thing that would sling-shot me in Obama's direction, it would be naming Romney his running mate. These two choices for running mates are the most important in history.

Then we can all listen to more of his tales about his father marching with Dr. Martin Luther King. I'm sure he has had enough time to think up some new and exciting ones. Just to listen to the Colbert Report make fun of him, is enough for me to want him to be McCain's running mate.

No. Utah sees a major earthquake every 350 years. Last one? 350 years ago.
