Utah Jazz mum on whether they will match offer for Miles

Miles woulda been wise to have gone on a mission out of high school.
I was thinking if the Jazz could get one of the Johnson brothers from the 8th ward they'd be okay. The 8th ward has won the stake tournament for five years straight.
yeah I'm gonna look back on him just like I did on Stevenson.... WooHoo he's finally gone.
I hate to see a young guy with so much potential go, but if he just doesn't want to be here, he's not going to be a good part of the team anyway, no matter how good he *could* be.
Losing Miles doesn't help our situation with needing outside shooters, but I don't think it'll hurt much, either. We have Korver, who can shoot the lights out, Brewer, who is athletic and can play some D, and Almond, who (though probably not as athletic as Miles) has the potential to be a sweet perimeter scorer.
I bet we'll be okay at two-guard, even if Miles goes.
I was so happy to hear that Miles will be gone. Where's his playing time gonna come in Oklahoma City? Is he gonna take minutes from Kevin Durrant, maybe Green? NO! He'll continue to be a disappointment and they'll be stuck with him for 4 years.
Some people act like the Jazz will be worse this year without Miles. What are we gonna miss his 3 minutes of Garbage time every other game? His 3 pt, 1 REB effort. How will we ever survive?
HAHHAHAHHAHAH!
Well good luck, Enjoy the cash, and say hey to Carlos Arroyo or Shandon Anderson or one of the other bust-outs that dissapeared after leaving Utah.
One last thing; Don't confuse the door for the bench, 'cause we don't want to see your butt glued to the far end of the door.(Don't let it hit ya)
Let me tell you why. Brewer is the best defender and most athletic of the three, but he will never be a consistent 18 foot to three point range shooter. He works hard though, but cannot create his own shot.
Almond is the best Scorer of the three. I'm super impressed with his post up game and he's strong, but he has no Defense and he's the oldest (in life years, not NBA years)_ of the three. His athleticism is BY FAR the worst of the three so he's probably never going to be a great defender.'
CJ can create his own shot, defend, shoot, he's athletic, and he's by far the youngest of the three. Mark my words, if we let him go, we'll be sorry in about 6 months from now, but not nearly as sorry as we will be in 2-3 years. CJ will be an all star (yes I'm serious) in 4 years. Just watch. We aren't losing another Deshawn, we're losing a young cross between Joe Johnson and Tracy Mcgrady... and yes I'm Serious.
CJ's #1 fan
CJ's #1 fan
On the other hand if he's smart with his $$ and doesn't think there'll be another $15 mill to follow this he'll be pretty well fixed for life financially. Going to OK is worse than going to europe where he'd at least be a starter.
Yes, I'm in that camp. Need a new coach. I want to see Sloan replaced.
NO team has ever won championship that didn't have 2-guard who couldn't shoot the ball. Brewer isn't the answer.
This go as one biggest jazz blunders in history if don't resign him. ( the biggest being trading for over the hill gail goodrich and losing a 1st round draft pick that became magic johnson)
You Jazz fans are going to miss Miles. How can you compare him to guys like DeShawn or Shandon? Whenever CJ was given any kind of a chance to play last year, he produced. How can Jazz fans seriously think that the SG with the with the ugliest shot in the league is the best option to start? And if you guys didn't have such a love affair (man-crush) with Kyle Korver, you'd see that he has more weaknesses than strengths. Almond can score on anybody, but he can't do anything else.
The problem is Sloan. A real coach would have realized CJ's value. But no, CJ has to be punished for skipping meaningless summer games. Sloan's been your coach for 20 years, and in each and every one of those years, the Jazz have lost their last game. How many chances are you going to give the guy? I guess you're just happy to have "good" seasons, while real teams are about winning championships.
So matching this deal is like Utah having a top 10 pick this year. CJ already knows the Jazz system, but he doesn't play because Harp, AK, Korver and Brewer play ahead of him. In my mind, he could be better than Harp by the end of this year, and he would be a better value than AK if he reaches any more of his potential. I just think the guy needs to play (same thing Deron said too).
Keep CJ O'Connor - can't afford another Mo Williams or even DeShawn Stevenson situation where we mismanage a talented player who goes on to success elsewhere...
The only guy I think we missed out on was Shandon Anderson...he could defend and slash. Stevenson scores because everyone is focused on Jamison and Butler. Stevenson can't defend....
Take your $$ and run CJ...it'll be your last contract
The better question is that if AK, Brewer, or Korver went down who would you want to replace them? If you say Almond get your head examined. A guy who has played a total of 37 mins in the NBA and try putting him at SF. Yeah right way to small for the position he can verily guard shooting guards in the D-League. At least with CJ you can cover two positions for the price of one. Lets put blame where blame is due. The Jazz tried to low ball him and thought he was not worth anything and other people thought he is. I think everyone will be surprised when the Jazz match.
I resepct the Jazz for rewarding hard word and results, not potential. If CJ was such a stud, they would have started him over Brewer. I imagine Brewer kicked his tail in practice all day.
CJ should have played in the RMR and proven himself if he was so confident with his game. Injury? These guys are well insured against that...the problem is why get your butt kicked by journeymen/draft picks in the RMR and ruin your contract value.
The OKC GM should have his head examined
