I hope the Jazz don't retain Miles. Let him go. Even though he might have
some talent, he will be fighting hard for playing time. Can't pay him 15
mill to sit on the bench.

Bye Bye CJ - go for the money! I think you "killed" yourself with the
Jazz by not playing last year (and this year) with the summer league. That
seems to be a must for the Jazz. I don't expect the Jazz will match your OK

Miles has game. We are stacked at his position and maybe he's not the guy
we want. But he had trade value, couldn't the Jazz have done something
along the lines of a sign and trade rather than be forced into paying Miles more
than they wanted or just letting him walk? The other strong Western teams are
getting better and the Jazz are sliding.

Jimmy thinks the Jazz should and will pass. Jimmy wishes the Jazz would have
offered Kelenna Azuibuke 3 years $9m or Keyon Dooling 2 years $6.8m. Both
players are more complete players and would offer the Jazz something more than

I am very disappointed in the way Sloan and Kevin O Conner have handled C.J. He
is by far the best of the 2's we have or had. Kyle Korver anyone? Hope you

CJ may be the next MJ. I highly doubt it, but his chances of achieving
greatness will be better for OKC. Sloan will just bench him as he does with 99%
of his young talent. I wish CJ well but I don't think he is worth (or any
NBA player for that matter) the jack they offered him. Good luck CJ.

I love the jazz here, but I hope Miles goes, he has great talent, if he works
hard on the off season. Jazz rather sign people like Jason hart and give these
guys money then rather spend money on players we have develop KOC is an idiot!
Miles is going to come back to Utah and proabably throw up 30pts. i remember
when KOC wanted to trade Boozer for Chris Mihm because Boozer was hurt all of

Were sliding fast. Looks like we peaked 2 seasons ago. I don't like the
direction this franchise is headed.O Conner,Sloan,Korver,Almond, their all over

doesn't mean any of us look back and wish we would have kept him, or that
he's even any good. good at growing a beard? perhaps. good nba 2 guard?

The issue is Matt Harpring's knees. Matt has been a most valuable sub for
Utah when he has been healthy, but after 3 surgeries the Jazz have to start
thinking about Kirilenko's sub, especially as AK is somewhat fragile. If
M. Almond is not ready, we better keep Miles. The Jazz further need perimeter
shooting.

ourselves what type of teams win titles??? Teams with great offense? No, renob

I don't think Miles is worth 15 mil to this team, especially since it looks
like everything he's done contract-wise and in the offseason the last
couple of years has been designed to get him out of Utah.
I hate to see a young guy with so much potential go, but if he just doesn't want to be here, he's not going to be a good part of the team anyway, no matter how good he *could* be.
Losing Miles doesn't help our situation with needing outside shooters, but I don't think it'll hurt much, either. We have Korver, who can shoot the lights out, Brewer, who is athletic and can play some D, and Almond, who (though probably not as athletic as Miles) has the potential to be a sweet perimeter scorer.
I bet we'll be okay at two-guard, even if Miles goes.

general. A work ethic like that can go to Oklahoma City. Don't let the door
hit ya CJ. Remember CJ, many others have bailed out for more money and quickly

That one of our bigs works out to be a moderate contributor, because that is
where we need help. As for losing C.J. I don't think it matters either way
as far as talent goes. The big problem facing the Jazz in the near future is
going to be the salary cap. Just relax a little fans we only have an obligation
to Collins and Hart for one more year. Our young players need to continue their
development each year and we will be fine. After all we are and have been ranked
in the top 10 in the NBA the last 2 years, what more can we expect?

I was dreading this day. Seriously. Of the three young 2's (Brewer, CJ, and
Almond), CJ has the most potential.
Let me tell you why. Brewer is the best defender and most athletic of the three, but he will never be a consistent 18 foot to three point range shooter. He works hard though, but cannot create his own shot.
Almond is the best Scorer of the three. I'm super impressed with his post up game and he's strong, but he has no Defense and he's the oldest (in life years, not NBA years)_ of the three. His athleticism is BY FAR the worst of the three so he's probably never going to be a great defender.'

I think letting Miles go for nothing is a mistake. Jazz brass were plenty busy
with William's resigning, but that the Jazz could not work something out in
a sign and trade PRIOR to this offer being tendered to Miles is concerning.
Next season how many free agents and opt outs do we have? Miles had trade
value, but now that he's been offered a contract the Jazz aren't
willing to pay they've either go to over pay him, or let him walk. I think
this kid's gonna be solid in a year or two. I'd blame his youth and
his agent for not showing up to the Revue. The Jazz are going to have to be
better at multi tasking next year or they'll wind up with one signing and
six walks.

I agree with CJ an Allstar in 4 years. He did things so well when in the game.
Yeah he had some mental lapses, but for every lapse there was an amazing play.
With playing time those lapses would diminish and the amazing plays would come
at a much higher frequency. My only concern with CJ is I'm not sure if
he's a true competitor. He's got game, but does he have the dire need
to win? Good luck CJ I always cheered loudest when you where in the game.

Oh and by the way, CJ will play the SG on NO and probably start this year...just
in case anyone was wondering. He is a natural SG and he didn't have the
stregth to defend the threes. He can defend most SG's very well. The only
one's that he's had problems with in the past were the superstars...ie
Kobe, McGrady. So he will fit in just fine in NO and he won't have anyone
he has to play behind anymore.

There is nothing so common in the universe than unfullfilled potential.
Stevenson, Curry, Anderson etc etc. I love the person CJ, but I honestly think
he's blown it as far as having a memorable or even noteworthy NBA career.
I think he had the talent to be an extraordinary player, but is too young and
immature to realize it and make it actually happen. With a couple years of
mentoring from the extremely savvy D-Will he'd have a shot at
semi-greatness
On the other hand if he's smart with his $$ and doesn't think there'll be another $15 mill to follow this he'll be pretty well fixed for life financially. Going to OK is worse than going to europe where he'd at least be a starter.

I liked CJ, and I think he'll do really well in OK, which is great for him.
He'll finally have a chance to show his talent. I'm a little sorry to
see him go, but we are stacked a the SG position, so it's probably good
that someone is going. Brewer, Korver, and Almond all have their strength and I
think we're secure at SG. What we need is a good back up center, and a new
coach.

IF sloan is the greatest coach ever, he should have been able to develop CJ

How can Jazz fans seriously think that the SG with the with the ugliest shot in the league is the best option to start? And if you guys didn't have such a love affair (man-crush) with Kyle Korver, you'd see that he has more weaknesses than strengths. Almond can score on anybody, but he can't do anything else.

Anyone watch the Lakers Series? Brewer is no the answer. When it counts he is a
liability. Can't throw it in the ocean. I mean really is it worth having a
2 gaurd that can't shoot? You want your 2 to be able to create shots if
needed, hit open shots, and 3's. Brewer can't do any of the 3. his
range is 3ft and in. Korver can only do one of the 3. CJ can do all 3.

year for not playing in the RMR. I think if D will wants him to stay that's

I agree with some that think CJ is the best (or at least has the most potential)
of the young (or old) SG's that we have, but I don't agree that it is
all Sloan's fault. Circumstance and fate just aren't matching up this
time. I wish CJ the best - and I think he will have a great NBA career, but it

We should match this deal to CJ and find a way to deal AK for Wally Szczerbiak
for financial reasons and/or even deal Harp for an expiring contract. Take a
minute to look at this - if CJ had entered the NBA draft this year, he would
have been a top 10 pick no question due to his size, shot, and potential. If he
was a top ten pick, he would have a contract around $15 million over 5 years
which is almost the same thing as this contract with OK.
So matching this deal is like Utah having a top 10 pick this year. CJ already knows the Jazz system, but he doesn't play because Harp, AK, Korver and Brewer play ahead of him. In my mind, he could be better than Harp by the end of this year, and he would be a better value than AK if he reaches any more of his potential. I just think the guy needs to play (same thing Deron said too).
Keep CJ O'Connor - can't afford another Mo Williams or even DeShawn Stevenson situation where we mismanage a talented player who goes on to success elsewhere...

Of the 4 shooting guards on the roster, CJ has by far the most potential. Ronie
Brewer was the beter all around payer at the start of the season, however by the
end of the season CJ had practicly closed the gap between them. Long term I feel
Ronie is better suited coming of the bench in Harpering's position when
Mats kneas can't go any more. CJ has shown flashes of greatness, and has a
most complete game of the 4 guards, his defence has improved, his outside shot
is as good as kover's, and he can do something the other 3 guards can not
do, get his own shot at any range, at any time. I know he is not ready to start
next season, however with a little more playing time (I understand this is hard
to find with the people ahead of him) I think he could be the starter in a
couple of years and an allstar in 4 or 5 years, he has the full game!

CJ Miles...we should keep him for $15M? C'mon...he can't get playing
time because he doesnt work hard. Brewer gets time because he has worked
hard....you don't get time based on potential. The time to develop is in
the off-season and practice...not shopping around for the best deal.

Brewer's range is limited but he's so much more efficient than CJ.
Brewer was 7th in the league last year in FG% at .558 (the best on the Jazz)
because of his athleticism. CJ was only .379. So for how much better a
defender Brewer is, it's an easy choice.
