Boozer has the heart of a champ | 11:19 a.m. July 21, 2008
I'll say he has the heart of a champion.

Because he is a champion. He was on the only non-Christian Laettner Duke team to win a championship, playing center (not his preferred position) on that team because no one else could.

Plus, I remember him practically willing us to the conference finals a year ago. The Warriors had no answer for him. In Game 7 against the Rockets that year, it was all Carlos. I think he had 41 points or something like that. He had a horrible playoffs this year, but he was also hurt. I think the 2007 playoffs is more representative of what we'll get from him in the playoffs.

Omaha isn`t that where the Kings played part time and then ended up going to Sacramento? Must be a great basketball town.
Short Memories.... | 12:11 p.m. July 21, 2008
Everybody is beating on Boozer, and touting Malone.

Doesn't anybody remember "The Mailman doesn't deliver on Sundays."? He choked more times in the playoffs than any other player.

Hey, I loved Malone! Still do. But give Carlos his due. He is a good player.

The love/hate nature of fans, especialy anonymous-message-board-posting Jazz fans, really misses the mark with Boozer.

Boozer is...
-One of the best low post scorers in the NBA
-A good jump shooter from inside 15 ft, even though he couldn't buy a basket in the playoffs he has a soft touch and usually his <10ft fadeaway is deadly.
-An excellent rebounder
-Still only 26 years old

Boozer is not...
-A good defender, man-to-man he is marginal to adequate (depending on his level of effort) because of his strength and athletisism but his team defense is horrible, simply horrible.
-A great leader, he may be a captain and he may say that this is his team but I'm not buying it, I don't see Boozer as the kind of player who inspires loyalty and pushes people to be better and to me it doesn't look like his teamates do either.

Make no mistake, if Boozer walks and the Jazz don't add another very good starting quality player the Jazz will go from being a borderline-legitimate-title-contender team to a should-make-the-playoffs team.
Questions... | 6:30 p.m. July 21, 2008
If you had to put your money on Boozer staying given his past would you bet on it? Would you trust him to stick around? Just a few of the questions Jazz brass will need to think about this coming season.

Dump Booz, develop Millsap, who is younger and has more of an "upside", and keep him. He seems to want to play/stick around, so why not? IF Booz comes to practice blaring out "Miami" from Will Smith, well then, wtf?

Malone wasn't a "shoo-in" either; if I recall, much doubt surrounded him when he 1st got to Utah. Didn't turn out so bad now, did it? Stockton had to wait his turn as well. Things will be fine.
Boozer ? | 1:47 a.m. July 22, 2008
Back in the Day when Boozer played for the love of the game he was great. I remember his college golden years. He did great last year and don't get me wrong however now days its all about the Benjamins. I say Boozer already lives outside the state. Probably a good indication he wants to jump ship. And where too? Miami. Lets make a trade you say? Michael Beasley and Shawn Marion for Carlos Boozer, Jason Hart, and we will throw in Jaron Collins and a second round draft pick. Ya. That sounds good to me. I just need to run it by Larry H. and Kevin O'Connor

gee...why don't you all blame sloan? Seems it's always his fault. anyhow, Boozer left Cleveland because he wans't going ot be the big man on campus, he got that in SLC and will stay because the sloan system has made him more of a winner than he's ever been in this league!
Will got paid, & Boozer will too...Miller is stuck forking out cash to the crybaby millionaires & that's all you can do
