I'm sure he'll be fine. Give him a little space. He's probably having the time of his life.

I have a mildly autistic son and I would be worried sick. They do not understand all the dangers out there so the sooner he is found the safer and better off he will be.

Why don't you just take a good look at his pictures. Wouldn't it be easier to recognize a face that you have studied, rather than looking for "distinguishing marks"? DUH.

Why has this not been on the news????? it was not to long ago that another autistic boy went missing and it made the news... and also why didn't the bishop call his parents or stay with him untill some family could get there??? in this day and age everybody has a cell phone don't they, and I am sure he could have got ahold of the family somehow....

No, everybody doesn't | 4:43 p.m. July 18, 2008
To worried--no everybody doesn't have a cell phone. Why are you being so critical? His Bishop tried to help, which is more than you did. And if a handicapped person is over 18, unless the parents are officially and legally his guardians, even they couldn't force him home. I know--I have a 21 year old handicapped son and the attitude in many of the programs for adult handicapped people is very much to encourage them to "do their own thing" and be "independent" of any control by the family who love and care for him. Fortunately our son's disability is different and he is happy and content to stay at home, but if he ever weren't, we would have very little to say about it. And obtaining legal guardianship of an adult handicapped child is VERY expensive--not the court costs themselves, but the investigation that the family must finance to be approved. Which is why many of us parents haven't been able to get that legal work done.

So, I'm glad the young man was found. I always pray hard when I hear of these cases--the kids are at terrible risk of harm from the truly wicked out there.
