I was 8 years old when I attended my first Herman's Hermits concert in 1967. I have been a fan ever since. Peter puts on a very entertaining show with upbeat, fun music. How wonderful it is to know that clean living and an education have paid off for him. I have taken my husband and kids to his concerts here in Utah, and have been thrilled to have him come back multiple times. He is a terrific role model.

What an incredible wise guy. How I wish more of our talent would be by such people. Our kids have such a variety of talent to watch, but none of it is by real "heros" and their desire to follow the majority of "rock stars" of today, aren't worth one red cent. (Remember that 40's comment?) In othere words, you rock on kiddo, you are definitely a super star in every way!!!! Oh, and I have always loved your music.

Peter Noone is a "rocker?" I think Doug Robinson needs to get out more...

Peter Noone is a great entertainer.
I first saw Hermans Hermits in 68 at the Ohio State fair. And since 2000, I have been to about 65 shows, all over the US. His shows are very fun and uplifting, and I doubt anyone will walk away, without a smile on their face.
Rock on Utah!!!!!!!

As a teen in the 60's I adored Herman's Hermits music. It took us to fun places. I never was able see Peter in concert until five years ago at our local fair.
I was shocked!!! He not only look great, but his voice was better than ever. WOW! He loves the kids, the music, then whole package. He won't leave until every autogtaph is signed. We not only go to Peter's shows ato see him. I have made some lifelong friendships with other fans. And, my 11 year old grandaughter loves him, too.
HOW COOL IS THAT???
Enjoy the show, Utah. This guys is just that. He is the real thing. No pretense. Just fun for the entire family.

I adored Herman's Hermits music in the 60's. And, I'm no different today.
Well, there's one difference. I never saw Peter perform live until five years ago at our local fair. I was shocked to see his still boyish looks. And his voice was better than ever. I was in the front row, and when he stood directly in front of me. And, I took his picture, I felt 14 once more. WOW! That music is the best drug I've ever seen.
My 11 year old grandaughter says Peter is the nicest man she's ever met.
HOW COOL IS THAT??? Peter encourages the kids to come up to the stage, where he may hand them a autographed CD. It's so much fun seen our grandchildren enjoying the show with us.
Peter Noone will not dissapoint you. And, he'll sign until all the autograph seekers have gone through the line.
I have several friends I've met because of Peter and Herman's Hermits. So, enjoy the music and have a few laughs. He's the real thing. No pretense. Just good family fun.

I met Peter Noone after his show in Rexburg a year or two ago, when like a poster above said, he was signing every last autograph. His show was one of the most fun I've ever been to (been to lots) and he seemed like a very nice, approachable guy in person.

And my kids in their teens and twenties love his music!

I am lucky enough to have seen Peter perform , many, many times.
He is exactly as he says he is.
I loved him in the '60's and love the man he is today.

Peter Noone is the consummate ultimate performer, but much more than that, he has deep roots and is a very kind, down to earth human being. He is a one of a kind gem and I am grateful all that he has given to all of us.

It's refreshing to see an interview that explores the person, rather than the biography. You probably could've filled another page or two with Peter's story if given the space. I've seen Peter Noone perform many times and have had the good fortune to interact with him after many of those performances. His sincerity and down-to-earth manner, as well as his love of life, his family, and his constant craving for new knowledge have made him the success he is. Thanks for painting a wonderful picture for your readers.

OK...

Last year Doug Robinson threw a fit in his column because of a statement Austin Collie made about living right.

Now Doug Robinson writes a column celebrating Peter Noone for living right.

Would Doug Robinson have written this colum if his son was Keith Richards, a member of the Rolling Stones? (Noone's comments could be considered "Holier than thou" if someone - a Rolling Stones fan- wanted to be offended. I mean the Stones aren't playing Draper days. They are more successful than Noone).

I really liked this column today. I think Doug Robinson's son being on the Utah football bench clouded his objectivity last year.

My point is sometimes columnists need to stay objective. We can learn alot from everyone who lives life right, with a purpose, whether they are Rock Stars, BYU or Utah football players, or everyday Joe's.

Nice column Doug. Keep it real.

Peace.

Very interesting article. I have been to well over 50 of Peter Noone's shows since '97. He really is down to earth, and really does seem happy. He is generous enough to share that happiness with his fans all over the world. His shows seem to only get better with time.

I never got to a concert when I was a fan of Herman's Hermits in the 60s, so the first time I saw Peter Noone perform live he was Frederic in Pirates of Penzance in a Broadway touring company. I couldn't believe the range of his singing and acting abilities!

Since then I've seen him at lots of concerts, and he is an all-around entertainer. I've seen many other performers live (Kansas, REO, Tom Jones, Santana, Tony Bennett, various Monkees, Paul McC, etc.) All great musicians, but few have the showmanship that Peter Noone has.

There are people of all ages at his shows because they enjoy his music and humor. I love to watch people going through his autograph line and coming away with huges smiles because of the kind or funny things he says to each one. He has taken the time to look each person in the eye and listen to them, too.

I'm glad you got a chance to see him, Doug, and your interview was excellent.

Awesome Article. I have been a fan of Peter Noone the Herman' Hermits since the 60's and never had the chance to see him live because it was had hard times back then financially. But I had every album and watched him on TV. Until a few years ago is when I found out he was touring. And from then on I became a Noonatic which we the fans call ourselves became addicted to his concerts. There is never a dull moment when he performs. He is so true to his fans and the love he shows to everyone and the children. Thats why we all love our Pop Tart as we call him at times because he is always popping in and out of chat when you least expect it.

Awesome column Doug.
God Bless

Thank you for posting this. I have been a fan of Peter Noone, since he was 14, and I have been to about 100 Peter Noone concerts. He never ceases to amaze me.

Doug, excellent article!! I am one of Peter Noone's younger fans. I was a teen in the 80's, but grew up on the music of the 60's, and Herman's Hermits was and is one of my all time fave bands from the era. I finally got a chance to see him in concert over 2 years ago, and it was an unforgettable experiance. I, like so many others who have posted here, have seen him many, many times in concert. Peter is a consummate performer, and each show is better than the last one! And yes, I have been through the autograph line and can personally attest to the fact that he is as nice, funny, and down to earth guy as so many others have said here. BTW, I also am very proud to be a Noonatic!

I think that Peter is totally cool, and unlike so many rockers of my generation, he has been a great role model. I have always admired and appreciated the clean lifestyle he has lead.

Thanks again, Doug, for a wonderful and insightful article.

Thanks Doug.

I enjoyed that article.

My family and I love Peter Noone.

Thank you for this engaging article. As a Herman's Hermits fan of some 43 years' standing, and a member of his fan club, it was quite different from the interview articles our far-flung members usually link us to. It gives some insights into Peter's youthful compatriots that we don't usually receive -- as well as the way in which he immunized himself against involvement in their worst habits. Who'd have thought that Keith Richards would have warned him.... the mind boggles, even reels and staggers.
