Hatc failed to point out (or it was not reported) that Congress is wasting millions of dollars giving away certificates towards purchase of converter boxes, and more millions advertising this wasteful spending.

Hatch and his gutless republican cronies are sitting on their butts and letting the do-nothing democrats diddle instead of working on real issues.

All the seem to do is give away money to buy votes. Disgusting!

RE-ELECT NO ONE!

On the contrary, I give Congress kudos for having the sense to realize that when they effectively deactivate every "older" TV, some people can't afford to run out & buy one with an ATSC (digital) tuner, or subscribe to a pay-TV service. How would you feel if you found out your 2-year old TV was about to become useless? At my local Circuit City, the converter boxes are $60. For some people, that's prohibitive. The population that needs the converter boxes is the same population that can't afford them. Be thankful that you apparently don't need the $40 coupons (limit of 2/household). The coupon program ia about fairness, and this time, Congress did the right thing.

P.S.: Re-elect on merit.
