"how do you run into a deer on a bike?"

Nice troll.

Well, how does one run into a deer while driving a motor vehicle?

Granted, your reaction time while on a bike is less than while driving, as your hands are already on the brake levers and there are fewer distractions around you. Still, if the deer pops out of the cover of brush into your intended path before you have time to bring the bike to a stop, you're either bailing out into the ditch, laying it down or hitting the deer.

Its fairly routine to be traveling at a rate of speed of say 40 miles an hour on a decent bike. I've surpassed 50 mph.

I've also seen deer run alongside me while in the country. That is one creature that I would not want to try to outrun, unlike canines.

Did you happen to see last year's Tour de France, when a T-Mobile rider was unfortunate enough to hit a blind dog that some moron had brought along (unleashed)?

Squirrels frequently dart out into the path of moving objects, be they cars or bikes.

No. Utah sees a major earthquake every 350 years. Last one? 350 years ago.
