Don't want to be a pest Brad, because I liked your column, but RSL didn't lose their first home game of the year--they lost the lead in stoppage time.

I can tell you aren't much of a follower of RSL because they did not lose their first match of the season, they gave up a last second goal that caused the match to end in a tie.

Although that one part of the article (home loss) wasn't accurate; I'm actually impressed at the actual journalism here. We've been a bit critical of Brad's pessimistic approach of soccer. But I thought this was a nice, intriguing, fresh article.

Thanks Brad

Maybe RSL should get a real (no pun intended) coach or a real(npi)name, Salt Lake Tax Collectors.

Re: Utefan

You remind me of a 3 year old kid who tells the same lame joke over and over and over and over again thinking it's funny each time he tells it. But hey, I guess if you can entertain yourself in front of your computer on a daily basis, power to you right?

A good column. Thanks for the nice insight.

With journalists copying and paste remarks from other games and no idea what the game is, DNews will never have a real article, but Brad is right about Kreis, for the simple fact of playing a few years, you're not fit to be a coach. To improve this game in America, we also need to import coaches, in order to build the future players.
It looks to me that RSL's management is not interested in building a solid team, just trying to do business.
The officiating is bad in every game, the only difference is that when RSL win, we forget about all the bad calls. Like in basquetball, when you put your attention in the officials, you lose your concentration and the game.

The referee was out of his mind last night. I don't think Kresi is overreacting at all.

Regardless, he's got to learn to take a few more deep breaths before the postgame presser. His passion helps the team, but that stuff doesn't.

Your team is a tax subsidy, not mine.

We love hearing from you! I see your posts on every story about RSL. You should win a reward for being the biggest fan of writing about how much you hate things. Keep it up - I love it - Kind of the same way I love the Special Olympics.

Good one UteFan. I hope one day I can be as witty as you!

Overall I am happy with the job Jason has done. He has put together a great team especially when when you look at the teams we had in the past. Yeah, we are missing a true finisher, but I imagine that if Espindola had been playing in every game we might have a few more wins than we do now. The fact is Jason is still learning how to coach and he is only going to get better. If he has us in scond place now then where will we be when as he gets better? Real has been in every game this year(Except one maybe two) up to the final minte where they had a chance to get a goal to give them the win or tie it up. That was not the case in the first three years of the team. Real was out of the match by halftime in about half of their games. We have the roster space and the money. Lets hope for another finsiher to help out Espindola and then see what happens.

Long live Real! Love that stadium!

Brad you are the best sports writing in Utah. I read all your articles and usually chuckle a few times while reading them.
I am glad that you wrote a soccer article that wasn't soccer bashing.
Jason Kreis was a great player, but I'm not sure it's translating into being a great coach! RSL has a very talented team this year and there's no reason they can't win the Western Conference.
They've got to figure out how to play the last 10 minutes, and finish on good scoring opportunities. RSL has more shots than ANY MLS team this year but it doesn't mean squat if they can't put the ball in the Ol' Onion Bag! Hope they can do it soon!

Granted his report of the season opener being a loss was incorrect, but it sure felt like a loss. Dominate a game for 80 minutes and then lose in stoppage time when the ref could have blown the whistle one or two minutes earlier.... that hurt. Oh well, we are still in contention right?

Kreis is learning, and as much as I hate watching him play the same tactics over and over again (with no apparent improvements in play or result), I can't think of a coach that would do better. Maybe we should send him and our assistant to coaching certification school since neither he nor Fraser are certified coaches?! The organization is always talking about effort and investment in the future... suck it up and go to school. Maybe that'll help him translate his talent as a player into talent as a coach.

We need another creative player. Kreis obviously has issues with playing williams the full 90, but with out him out there morales is useless because he has no one to work with. Hopefully we can hang around the top til sturgis and espindola get healthy.

Go REAL!!!!
