Don't forget Kurt Russell's "Miracle"!! That one always stirs my patriotic blood, watching the 1980 US Olympic Hockey team best the Soviets (and everyone else).

We also now have the "John Adams" HBO series available on DVD--wonderful experience for those who didn't catch it on first run. All 7 episodes are also playing on HBO over the next 3 days. Carve out some time for this, or rev up the Tivo--it's a keeper, and will give you new appreciation for what our founding fathers and mothers sacrificed to forge this country we enjoy.

The Superman movie referred to in the article is actually "Superman II". Lex Luther didn't mess with the White House in the first one. It took General Zod to tear up the roof of the Oval Office.

"Miracle" is a definite good choice. So is "October Sky", with the shot of the space shuttle at the end.

1. The American flag should not be "wrapped" around anyone. It is not an article of clothing or a towel; it is a sacred symbol, to be treated with respect.

2. For less Hollywood, and more history, try "Story of a Patriot" (shown at Colonial Williamsburg for many years) or BYU's "More Perfect Union."

Happy Independence Day!
