This is stupid. They are making it even harder to get a license. Just let us ride. They are punishing all of us for the mistake of a small portion of the motorcyclist population.

To Ridiculous..don't take it personal. If you are a good rider and want to be a safe rider then take the class and be grateful they care enough to spend the time to provide this for motorcycle enthusiasts. It's the young ones that are out of control and have no respect or regard for human life. This is what they are trying to prevent..deaths(unncessary ones). You have to earn that license and I for one, am glad they passed this law..it will save innocent lives or more money from tickets for operating a motorcycle without a license. Your choice.

So what makes the Auditor so special that he get's 95% of what the governor makes?

Incidentally, Governor Huntsman doesn't collect a salary, so shouldn't the auditor get 95% of 0? (hahaha)

suzyk,
I will gladly take the two day motorcycle course. Can you give me $200 so that I can participate? I am only 18, and my job requires me to work late if I want to earn any money... but I can't ride my scooter (only mode of transportation) at night because of the new law. Thanks, it would be much appreciated!

I give the new motorcycle law a standing ovation + golf clap. When i got my license at 17 in Wisconsin I did through the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. Its actually cheaper than training yourself and passing the state exam and raod test.

Its been a researched and proven fact that people who take these types of training classes get in less accidents and we all know that will help lower the overall insurance rate for motorcyclists.

I for one tell everyone to do the same as I did and take the MSF course. I am a much more skilled rider than i otherwise would have been on my own.

Yeah - they got one law right! | 12:53 p.m. July 1, 2008
I'm glad they are required to take the test for motorcycles, if you want to ride it and are under age be responsible and take the course. It's some of the irresponsible ones who weave in and out of parked traffic wanting to be the first in line, those cause the accidents. It's too bad they didn't go as far as making the law for 4-wheelers as well. This was an excellent course for our son who got his 4 wheeler at the age of 13, took the course and learned A LOT, yep 2 days AND we had to haul his own 4 wheeler, but he's much more responsible with a license than without, he's now 18. It sure would cut down on the amount of accidents there are on 4-wheelers by young kids.

You should take a look at how Florida Legislators have passed a new Law, which they expect the motorcycle riders to pay for...id one can find a "course" to take. Talk about a screwed up Law!

Has anyone heard the possibility of limiting the motorcycle license to a certain CC class. I heard something on the radio but can't find anything online. I think it said you must test on a bike that is 250cc to 600cc if you want to ride in that class and you must test on >600cc if you want to ride anything above that. Anyone know??
