Did you guys even watch the NBA finals in 1997 or 1998?
You keep saying that the Jazz "just weren't good enough to win a championship". and that Karl Malone was the problem both those things are simply not true.
And here are the stats to prove it.
In 1997 and 1998 there was only one team that could beat the Jazz in the playoffs and it was the 6 time champion Bulls featuring the greatest player in the history of the game. The Jazz where the only team in the league that could even challenge that Bulls team for those two years. Not only that both seasons they pushed the Bulls to the limit before losing in the final minutes.
Think about this, the total point differential for the ENTIRE 1997 Finals was 4 points, that means that in 6 games the Bulls scored only 4 points more than the Jazz did. the Jazz lost three of those games by less than 5 points. Same story in 1998, 5 of those games were decided by 5 points or less.
