Utah Jazz: Miles gets offer, ponders Revue plans

Great nucleus of a winning team, but it may be time now to trade Hart and Collins. Neither really contributed anything to any game last year. Everyone else has potential to help win. The newbies all have potential.

The best thing C.J. Miles could do is go ahead and play in the review, hoping some other team will see him and go there. He will play very little in Utah with sloans attitude about young players.

"Sloan's attitude about young players"?? You mean like Ronnie Brewer starting role last year...as a sophomore in the league?

Playing in the Review is his audition. If he catches the eye of other teams he will likely get an offer for more and the Jazz either have to let him go or match it. For the Jazz the Review should be the chance to let Miles and Almond show them who really has the chance to be a long term player on this team. Of course Miles would likely go into the Review without excepting the Jazz offer and does risk injury. If he is injured he is stuck with the Jazz offer for one year.

Jimmy is ready to let Miles go and give his minutes to Almond or Price.

Perhaps we can sign and trade Miles and Hart and/or Collin's expiring contract for a backup for DWill.

I wonder if CJ or his agent ever heard of the term "insurance". He could insure himself against injury and go ahead and play. Then again, he could also sit out, pout and, come October, feel sorry for himself for getting intimate with the pine.
From the little I've seen, CJ has real potential. Harpring will not last much longer and you never know where AK will wind up in a season or two. If I were CJ, I would give the Jazz two more seasons and then see where things are headed.

C.J. Miles is the class of the field at the 2 guard position. The sooner Sloan realizes this the better. Its time to stop the head games and treat C.J. like a man. He will respond mark my word.

Miles has tons of potential, and I hope he stays with Utah. He will be a good player. In two years, Harpring will be gone when Miles will be only 23. Miles is 6'8", can play the 2 or 3, is a proven shooter/slasher, and knows the Jazz system. We need to trade AK ASAP for obvious financial reasons. When we trade AK, Miles will be even more important to the present and future. Add in that he is Deron's best buddy, I think we need to keep him around for that reason too.

Dear C.J,

Please learn from last year's mistake and play in the Revue. You need to start the season is the best shape possible and, let's face it, it took you nearly half the season to get into shape.

You seem to have an upside that has surfaced here and there. If you want BIG money, then set the table for it by coming out shooting the lights out, defending like no other and you will get the money.

It's my opinion that when a player is young, he has to take a few chances and play as much as possible. Even without a contract. When C J Miles didnt play in the rocky mtn revue last year it didnt do him any good. All these other players were playing and getting better. Remember he is just a few years out of high school. If he was a seasoned veteran, then I could buy that excuse. He's still trying to prove himself. Sloan will play you if you have proven to him that you deserve to play. So far C J Miles hasn't. If I remember right, C J Miles has had a chance to start but didn't do anything so was yanked from starting line up. Based on what I just read, the jazz offered him a $200,000 raise. Not bad for a guy that hardly played in the games.

I think CJ has an edge over Almond, CJ can play some defense. Almond has better trade value considering he shot lights out in the dleague and i think was the leading scorer in the league. CJ has long arms and can sometimes play small forward or shooting guard. C'mon Jazz try to work out a trade for Marion, give up a combination of AK, Hart, Almond and Fesenko.

Marion has already said he will not come to utah so it is pointless to even talk about him. and besides he is a me first kind of guy like boozer where nothin counts but the benjamins.

Sloan believes in the player's ability, not the player's experience. Sloan played Millsap & Dee Brown (both rookies) during the playoffs last year. Sloan played Morris and Fes this year in the regular season.

Cj should play in the summer. Brewer got better during the summer.

CJ- please work on your defense. There is not question you can shoot. Someone has to stop Kobe and McGrady from going around the defender.

I think if the jazz had a SG that can drive to the whole. kobe or t-mac would be less effective be cause they would have to play defense. But I hope CJ stays. He does have A LOT of potential. But if he deosnt want to stay I can't wait to see Mr. Almond Joy finally get some minutes.

CJ is probably a better scorer than Brewer, but Brewer plays better defense and that's where our team really lacks: guarding the SG of the other team. Whoever can step up and play defense, that's who should be in there. We have plenty of scorers. We need stoppers.

The Jazz need more defense and more consistent outside shooting. I would like to see CJ back but with a bit of an attitude. His happy go lucky attitude is fun, but he needs to be meaner. He needs a killer instinct -- to be thinking, "I'm going to take you out of your game." Then CJ would double his minutes. He's a good shooter -- he finally proved that this past season. We could use more shooters -- I would love to see Almond come in with a defensive stopper attitude, and then we could enjoy his beautiful shooting form, too. And I would like to see Jaycee Carrol in a Jazz uniform. He's one of the finest long-range shooters I've ever seen, even when he is guarded closely. The guy hustles constantly, is a team-first guy, is teachable and is a lights-out free throw shooter (92% last year). He can drive to the hole and throw up tear drops. He can pass. He can defend because he is willing to work. If the Jazz don't get him, they'll someday regret it. He can even rebound because he has a 40-inch vertical.

I think CJ is a great talent. I really hope we keep him around. My wish is to get rid of AK47 SOON!!!! Ride out Harpring as long as we can and CJ will be able to step right in and fill the gap. I think this guy is legit as an all around player and I hope we don't blow it with him.

So about youth, Jerry will let youth play, as long as they play in his system. As of last year Ronnie Brewer started and so did D-will, both very young players, and ya'll need to remember that Utah was the 6th youngest team in the league. That says something for youth. Ronnie B is a great asset. He played well for us last year, but CJ has a much bigger chance of being something special. If he works his butt off, like Ronnie B did last year, than he has the chance of starting. You forget that he started a handfull of games when Ronnie B or AK were out. Kyle Korver and Harpring are gonna stay coming off the bench for now, so really the only people he has to deal with are Ronnie B and Mo Almond. CJ has the best potential of being a defensive stopper and has a sweet stroke. If he does his thing, expect greatness from him.

If the Jazz screw around and lose CJ they are idiots period.
