Doctoring your kids

Very often even the doctor doesn't know if it is viral or bacterial, that is the reason it is hard to tell the parents how to do it.

I'm thankful for all the hard working doctors that have helped me and my family over the years. But, there is always a �but;� many doctors put too high a value on maintaining an image of being medically omniscient. Many need to be more forthright about diagnosis often being an art rather than science and the fact that there are many maladies that they can do little about.

How is it that in the "Olden Days" Grandma, Grandpa, Mom, or Dad, usually seemed to know what to do, or a phone call to the doctor. Now if you put something in your kids ear for an ear ache your your abusing your kids. Well my gosh, my grandparents were horrible "Home Remedy" doctors that would have spent a lot of time in jail making me feel better I can tell you that!

It's the same for "BEHAVIOR PROBLEMS". The "Good Book" says a swift kick in the pants and don't spare the rod, yet the law would chuck you in the clink and say your child needs drugs? I am so tired of it. Just so tired of it.

If there WAS an instruction manual, the first on the list should be:

DON'T LEAVE ME IN THE CAR!!!

In the "Olden Days" kids died from strep infections, scarlet fever and mumps. Polio was rampant and whooping cough spread like wildfire. I, for one, am glad the "olden days" are pretty much days of the past!

And no where in the "Good Book" is beating a child ok. I seem to remember something about a millstone...

My father used to say that he was a not a coca cola factory to produce the same kind of individuals as children. That's why you use something called COMMON SENSE when raising kids. However, the best way to learn to be a good parent is by observing those who are good in parenting. And yes, scriptures and a direct connection to the Lord are the best instruments.
