I wonder how long before Garden City and Utah get there own mega-resort. Utah can't let Idaho get all the tax dollars.

At a time when our country is realizing european type gas prices, here to stay, do you really want to invest in water skiing & snowmobiling? Want to make some fast cash? Buy "shorts" on any publicly traded boat maker, RV manufacturer or snowmobile company.

So much for the quiet retreat I have enjoyed for so many years, but it may bring in more ways to have fun. The additional golf course and winter activies sounds great. Although the traffic will be a nightmare, think Raspberry Days all the time.

How sad. Yes, the artist's renditions of the development look beautiful, but I always loved the fact that the lake was so pristine and country-ish. It has those great empty shorelines, little mom and pop shake stands...now it's being developed? **crying a little inside**

Proof is in the pudding. It's not the first grand plan to start with a bank and end with a fizzle. At $4/gal now and likely $5/gal within a year or two who could afford the run over to Bear Lake? I'm all for it. The county infrastucture could use a shot in the arm. I'm not betting the farm that it happens . . .

I am glad to see it destroyed. It is just too cold and I do not like bears either. I think they should find a way to drain it so they can find the bottom.

It's not the done deal that they want to portray. There are alot of people in Bear Lake that aren't very excited about the whole thing. Another detail not revealed in the article is the fact that their water mitigation plan has already been refused twice by the IDWR. If the thing does fly the farms will be some of the first casuelties.
