It's interesting the things | 10:49 p.m. June 27, 2008
That some think the "Lord" tells others to do. What rationalization for hurtful things! People do hurtful things and try and blame it on "God", but the "God" I know never instructs people to do hurtful things. God is Love and this causes respect and dignity for others and not the things I see mentioned above.
THINK ABOUT GOD | 11:05 p.m. June 27, 2008
I must agree, God is love and doesn't go around making people hurt and be miserable. So why would a loving God intentionally want to hurt women with the practice of polygamy? Simple, he wouldn't! Polygamy is an earthly weakness for some men who need to have more than one woman in their lives. However, it is quite hurtful to most normal women.

Were a pollster to ask I might very well facetiously answer that FLDS and LDS are one and the same even though I lived in Utah many years and know the two are quite different.

Why would I do this? I just don't like pollsters. It has nothing to do with the factual situation.

Very true.... | 8:57 a.m. June 28, 2008
And we need to remember all the woman that have had other spouses because of death. My sweet grandmothers knew that they would be with both of their husbands in eternity (just like some men think they will be with other wifes in eternity). What a hurtful and ridiculous thing to think that "God" would keep us apart!
Eternal Slavery | 11:03 a.m. June 28, 2008
polygamy is down right evil! But tell that to any male FLDS or LDS man. I mean men, man or boy! Man seems to think he knows everything. The men will first start with god said so, and then the man will read a bunch of false scriptures to convince you. Actually though, I really don't care, because me and my family cannot be brainwashed to believe such wicked garbage.
True gospel | 4:53 p.m. June 28, 2008
Seems that the FLDS hold to the true teachings of the gospel.
Aren't they following the prophet, Jos. Smith? Who stated, firmly, (I'm referring to D&C, Sec.132) that the "new and everlasting covenant" of polygamy of plural wives is God's law and Mormons will abide His law or be "damned?" Was he a prophet of God or not? Which is truly from the Lord? A 'revelation' that begins "Verily, thus saith the Lord," or the "declaration" that says "To Whom It May Concern?" so that the US Gov. will not seize the property of the Church.
Congratulations, to the FLDS, who stand firm to the law of God, instead, of the law of governments
Re:True gospel | 5:55 p.m. June 28, 2008
That may be true but how do you know who holds the keys to sealing the marriages? There are many polygamous sects besides the FLDS each with their own prophets and each claiming that he holds the keys. It is sort of like a big shell game when you come to think about it. I think I will stick with the LDS claims. It is too confusing otherwise.

You are exactly right: It is sort of like a big shell game when you come to think about it. That's why I simply choose not to play.
John Lambert | 8:27 p.m. June 28, 2008
Just because someone would be ok with polygamy if it were commanded does not mean they want to go and join some group that practices it without authorization of the one holding the keys.
The Book of Mormon is very clear that polygamy is only at some rare times allowed. The FLDS are both wrong in persisting in it and have overvalued it.
It is totally obvious that Sarah is not FLDS. Polygamy is never an easy law to live, and I think even those women in the church who in their hearts have made peace with the idea of their husband taking another wife if the leaders of the church were to command it would still find it very hard to go through with such a thing.
I am very gald polygamy is not commanded of the Lord right now. Anyone who tries to entice woman into it is a base adulterer.
God knows who U R ! | 9:16 p.m. June 28, 2008
To wishful men who set out and dream up schemes for practicing polygamy. Don't you guys get it? Polygamy is only sanctioned by men for in behalf of a few lusty men. God has "absolutely nothing" to do whatsoever with your silly false revelations to abuse women. Get a grip, one wife, and a real life. No one wants to hear your false made-up doctrines. Quit playing games with the heads of the Flds & Lds women in your cultist religions.
Good Job! | 11:14 a.m. June 30, 2008
Couldn't have ever said it better. Stop making excuses for being lustful and for wanting to control women!
