The reason WalMart is successful is because Americans vote with their wallets and Walmart is way ahead!

Why do we need another Wal-Mart we allready have tons of them in Utah County along with K-marts and everything else, Wal-Marts are everywhere between Springville & Plesant Grove and in the Salt Lake Valley, Get Real

I don't like Wal-Mart, their quality is not that great, especially when it come to produce. I haven't shopped at Wal-Mart in months. . . and I don't miss it one bit.

Using zoning "laws" to stop walmart from building at the same site is absurd. Since when did property rights not include putting the same size and type of use in a given location? The argument that a walmart there is not the same type of land use as a kmart is artifice rather than substance, especially if the new building is about the same size (though I'm not convinced that size is a valid restriction, either). Let them build. Then let the consumers patronize or not.
Tax Advantages | 10:48 p.m. June 26, 2008
When a Wal-Mart enters a new area property tax income usually increases for the local government. Wal-Mart is also about saving money. Most studies show that food prices go down about 25% for consumers after a Wal-Mart is built in an area.

I hate Walmart. If they build in Parley's, I'm going back to the planet I came from !

For those who believe a super Wal-Mart will make a neighborhood more vibrant, those of us who live within 1/4 mile of the super store equate vibrance to noise, traffic and congestion. Foothill Drive is one of the most congested major surface streets in Salt Lake; Parley's Way is becoming a high speed raceway and there's limited access to the Kmart property. It will take its toll on the nearby neighborhoods.
