Thanks for telling Rowdy's story (Rowdy -- what a name!) I can't believe it's been 20 years since Yellowstone was on fire. We had reservations at the Old Faithful Inn and had to cancel them that year. When we returned to the park a year later, it was like a bomb hit. We were so sad about it, but now we understand it was mother nature's way of restoring new growth in the park.

It is so wonderful to see how Yellowstone has recovered from the fire. It must have been frustrating for this man to fight such an enormous blaze, knowing there wasn't much he could do. Hats off to Rowdy and all other firefighters out there!
