It's symbolic Plaisted is one of the last to be seen. It shows the Jazz have little sincere interest in him. I enjoyed watching him play, but still think he made a big mistake trying to be drafted this year.

He'll make an excellent player in France!
Not a mistake | 12:18 p.m. June 24, 2008
Plaisted did not make a mistake going out this year even if he is a second round pick. The reason is that he would not have improved his draft position or his basketball skills by staying at BYU. He has already graduated - or only one class away - and he would have been lost on next seasons two-guard heavy, run and gun, shoot 3-pointers Cougar team. I think his point total would have dropped and he would become a 4th option after Cummard, JT, and Fredette put up record 3-point attempts next season. Plaisted is a second round or international player regardless whether he stayed or declared so he might as well get on with his career now. He gave a lot to BYU and now we should wish him well in his pro career. Unless you hate the Y there is no reason to criticize this kid now. He did well for the Y, got his degree and is now moving on like every other graduate from the Y. Thanks for everything Trent!!!

Fans who think Plaisted is in a bad way with his decision are uproariously funny. Plaisted will be making plenty of money soon. Basketball is just bonus. However long he gets to play professional basketball will be longer than you or I. And he will make more money living that dream as well.

He's not even sweating his critics who are already working the kind of job he will be able to get (With his college degree) when that time comes.

Yeah, I'm jealous, and obviously you are too. You only wish you could make his so-called mistake. Lol! Hillarious!

Are you tp's mother or his agent. He made a big mistake! His career will be just like his free throws. BOOOINK!

Agree with "Not a Mistake" who posted at 12:18 that the issue of whether this was the right decision is not whether he will be drafted high in the draft in '08. The real question TP had to ask himself was "would I be drafted higher in '08 than I would have been in '09?" If the difference of draft pick is significant enough it could make a difference in how much he'll make in his first contract.

Nobody knows the answer to that question (including you, me, TP or Hey Hilarious above), but I think TPs probably making the right guess. I just wanted to help frame the issue for the short sighted Ute fans who like nothing better than taking shots at Cougars, logic notwithstanding.

Trent made the right choice although it is ridiculous the way these college coaches lie about thier size. Trent is not even 6'ft. 10 without shoes. 6ft. 9" will put him at power forward in the NBA. He definitely is athletic, and runs the floor well. He is strong and can rebound with anyone. His upside is definitely better than his downside, which would be outside shooting and free throws. I think he will stick with someone in the league come draft day.

Somebody please draft this BYU boy and give him a job! If you don't he will stay in Utah selling insurance, real estate, carpet, lawn sprinklers, or an investment that will promise ward members a 110% return.
I suspect he will get a very low draft pick and then sent off to Europe -perhaps Spain where he can drink all the fresh Seville OJ he wants, complain about playing time, sprain his big toe, get cut from the team, come home and teach Drivers Ed and coach HS B Ball somewhere hopefully on that side of the Zion Curtain.
Why is it that the zoobees think that every athlete that comes out of the zoo is a top draft pick?
TheHailstorm | 10:15 a.m. June 25, 2008
Don't be surprised if he isn't drafted.
I wouldn't want him on any nba team. To me Play instead is just not worth the breath.
What was he thinking or , rather what planet did his wife decend from to push him away from another year of ineptness ?
