This is a much better team than previous years and they deserve the support of the community, the newspapers and the fans. Maybe we can FINALLY get rid of some of the negativism that has permeated the team, the stadium and the ownership for the past three years. This is OUR soccer team and it is here to stay, so lets all pull together for them.

Hopefully, we can continue to do well, especially against Kansas City. Unfortunately, KC is a rather weak team this season so far which does not bode well for Real. Hope they prove me wrong!

Scads | 11:26 a.m. June 22, 2008
That is some of the best soccer they've ever played with a late lead. Good passing, only a few mistakes...it is crazy to think we are in playoff contention. Now if we can take the show on the road (consistently) this could really get fun.

I chear for RSL, but they have disappointed in the past. Just because I am still cautious does not make me an RSL hater. This season they are playing better than ever before. Their next test is to go on the road and pick up points. We all expected them to be doing well recently as they have had a good, long stretch of home games. Now take it on the road and do well.

It will be interesting to see where we are at 6 weeks from now.

Haters? | 1:20 p.m. June 22, 2008
I often see posts criticizing the "RSL haters". Doesn't this reflect insecurity among some RSL fans. Stop worrying about the so-called "haters". Cheer for our team. Enjoy the sport. The "haters" will join the band-wagon soon enough.

Don't worry..... | 2:19 p.m. June 22, 2008
The RSL haters will soon be among you in the stands of the new stadium, enjoying the venue and keeping a low profile as to not give away their previous identities......

Good Luck to RSL in KC!

Jason Kreis, Robin Frazier, and the rest of the RSL coaching staff are obviously doing a great job. They have put together a well organized team that plays hard and intelligently. The team has steadily improved. If they ever acquired a big time goal scorer they would go to another level.

Hater | 4:44 p.m. June 22, 2008
Sorry I'm late...I was sleeping through a soccer game that put me into a deeper coma than usual. I'll bring the orange slices and Hi-Cs for the next game. Is it going to be at the SunnySide field- I mean Rice-Eccles? I'll keep my eye out for a bunch of orange cones in the street and no cars in the parking lot.

RE: Hater

I guess you obviously care about RSL if you take the time to read the articles and post sarcastic remarks. I can care less about the Utah Blaze and Arena Football but I dont go into their articles and rag on them.

I'm not surprised | 5:43 p.m. June 22, 2008
I would say I'm happy we won, but not surprised like the past few seasons. I pretty much expect us to win at home. Our defense has improved so much we are actually difficult to play now.

We still need some road wins though. Hopefully we can take out KC this week.

Hey everyone don't pick on Hater. He is obviously mentally challenged. Just humor him. (Your right Hater, soccer is so bad and everything you like is so cool. Your so cool by telling us that) Eventually Pro wrestling or NASCAR will come back on TV and he will go away.

Great Game | 5:58 p.m. June 22, 2008
Saturday's was a great game. RSL came out as a completely different team from Wednesday. Other than the miscommunication between Borchers and Rimando that led to the goal they looked like a really good side that was in tune and fired up to win the game.

P.S. Did you guys forget this is Utah? Home of the fair-weather fan.

For the two of you out there wondering how to get on this RSL bandwagon, be at the home of Juice Box Guy before the next game and his mom will come and pick you up in her minivan (aka the bandwagon).

Actually Juice Box Guy is really Mike Ditka from the Will Ferrell movie Kicking and Screaming. So anyone wanting to get on the bandwagon will first have to ask Iron Mike politely. PS: No you cant have the Pele ball!

The Good and bad | 10:55 a.m. June 23, 2008
First the bad part of the game saturday, lets end with the happy stuff shall we.
Bad: Nick Rimando. I personally dont like the guy, never have and i think he has cost us some points this year and nearly cost us some on Saturday. I think Seitz deserves at least a shot at the starting position. I mean the guy got called up for national team duty, but he is on our bench? Come on now. What is rimando, a whole 5 foot nothing? The guy is great with shots below his shoulders, but anything in the air and he is beat. Want proff? LA game, becks first goal was not that great. Saturday game, a high bounce and a poor decision by Rimando to get caught out in "no mans land". Dallas game on road, what could have been 3 points, he lets in a horrible header cuz once again caught in "no mans land" I really think Seitz deserves the spot, Rimando is not bad, but Seitz will be in europe in a couple years so lets use him!

The Good and bad contd | 11:02 a.m. June 23, 2008
Now for the good:
RSL dominated (save maybe 15 mins) of the game on Saturday. Yes the revolution was missing key players, but so were we. They didnt have Twellman, we didnt have Espindola and Findley had to leave in the first half. They didnt have Josef, we havent had Sturgis for some time now and still look good through the middle.
People have forgotten about this kid, which is really good for Real. He is extremly talented holding mid, which would allow our midfield to have either dema, williams, or beckerman as a power sub! Also, when Espindola is healthy, either him or Findley will be great subs too.
RSL looks pretty good as of late, and if not for some errors earlier in the season (Chicago at home, LA at home, Kansas at home, SJ at home, and Dallas on the road) this team could be top of the league.
Looking at the schedule til the allstar break, Real plays: at Kansas (at least a point), Dynamo at home (3 points), Crew at home (3 points), Chicago on road (no points here).
So out of a possible 12, i say RSL get 7. Not too bad!!!!
