Was that nearly 50% trey average because of a lack of good competition, or is Carroll really that good of a shooter? If he is, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Jazz pick him up.

Whether Carroll can defend other NBA 2's will have an impact, too, on whether the Jazz want him. They are loaded at 2 right now, but you don't bypass shooting talent, which is surprisingly rare in the NBA. Do the Jazz have a second round pick this year?

I've only see Carroll play a few times, and he seemed like a valid shooter. I doubt, though, he's real NBA material, but you never know.

Although the competition wouldn't be as good, I think I'd be more interested in watching a bunch of classy players like Carroll work their tails off day in and day out for a reasonable salary vs. paying some of the players what we do. $100 to watch one basketball game? I'm sure players like Carroll would be thrilled to earn $100k a year playing basketball for a living, and ticket prices would drop to $10.

Carroll played for the blessed school of byu then he would be a shoe in for the Jazz or the nba. What is realllllly annoying is byu's continuing arrogance.

Funny | 9:13 a.m. June 21, 2008
Isn't it funny to read these ridiculous blogs by stupid jerks. I will tell you all for sure that if J C would have indicated in any way that he was complating a transfer in the last two years you would have seen 2 Utah colleges go to the ends of the world to have gotten him. He more than likely won't get drafted in the NBA upcoming draft but will have a very rewarding life because of his integrity, personality, and integrity. Thats something most of you peeps only wish you had. All of the negative bloggers on this site are nothing more than a bunch of losers. Life doesn't need your kind.

if only you'd write something that was relevant to the story... What is realllly annoying is a post like this that has nothing to do with anything in the story and shows your continuing lack of intelligence.

Oh, and your grandma's cookies stink! (that has about as much to do with this story as your post)

The workout is more or less just a courtesy for a local boy done good. A pat on the head & a star on the forehead.

I do agree with many, that he'll tear it up in Europe.

Jaycee is a great shooter. He deserves a chance to show what he can do. Not only is he a great shooter he seems to be a great person also. I don`t think a team can have to many good outside shooters.

I saw Jaycee play (in person)30 times in the last two years alone, he can shoot in the NBA! at one camp ESPN reported that he went 21 for 25 from the three point line in one of his work outs, Jaycee can shoot. The only real question is can he cover the 2 spot? That is the only real question.

A courtesy for a local boy? Is that also why Portland, Chicago, New Jersey, Sacramento, Detroit, the LA Clippers and Charlotte have had him in for workouts? After the Jazz he'll be working out for Denver and Milwaukee as well.

He must have lived in a lot of places to have so many rewards for a local boy done good!

He's not even hard enough to hang with the church games in SLC. That's why he was in Logan.

BYU Missed Big Time | 12:53 p.m. June 21, 2008
I'm a Cougar and we have to acknowledge that we missed big time on this great player and member of the Church. Let's not be so arrogant and idiotic to denegrate him by saying he played at USU. He would have easily started three years in Provo. I doubt he has the overall package (not enough defense or size) to make it in the NBA but he can shoot it as well as anyone and should have a long overseas career. I see him a a very poor man's Steve Nash - smallish, great on offense, hustles all over the court, but struggles to defend and get's pushed around.

I certainly would much rather see JC shooting the three at the end of a quarter the Jason Hart. There is always a place for those with desire.

Lets not forget a guy named Hornacek who went late in the second round. Jaycee has a similar game to that of Horacek. Hornacek was drafted late in the second round. Be interesting to see how he does if someone invites him to a review. He definitely has the drive and will than most players and that might let him get on to some team to prove his worth. Its worked for Korver so far.
