Two goals in my little, narrow world: Don't draft a thug and draft a guy who loves hard-nosed defense.

I'm not a Jazz fan, but being in Utah I like to keep track of them. This guy doesn't fit in with the Jazz. He has trouble written all over him if he doesn't get the playing time or the money HE thinks he deserves.

Jimmy still likes Plaisted. Jimmy thinks that he is the man for Utah.

I say draft the 7'2" Hibbert and alternate him and Fesenko backing up Okur at center. Okur can also move to PF when Boozer comes out while Millsap can back up Andre in addition to Boozer. That way we develop two 7 footers and Okur, Boozer, and Millsap can still have their playing time. With a 7-foot guy back there, Williams can get more aggressive on defense and probably boost his steals per game. We'll also get more rebounds. There, I should call Sloan and tell him I've got it all figured out for next year. Of course, if I'm so smart, why am I posting messages here and not coaching. :)

I'm impressed. Most fans don't seem to recognize their limitations. You do. Good commments too. You seem to realize we're all guessing at what might be. If we were better guessers, we might coach.

You are right, i would consider suicide if the jazz draft Plaisted. Just kidding though, lets just get hibbert and a good point guard to back up williams, and price, and hope the jazz toss collins and hart.

Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy. You can't be serious about Plaisted. I sure hope you are being sarcastic. I would say the Jazz should draft Hibbert but if he is gone then they should look at Jawai from Australia. Those would be my two choices in the draft but who knows maybe the individual work outs say something different. I would like it if these articles talked most about the workouts and informed us of who impressed and who didn't.

Joopiter to Marz | 11:31 a.m. June 16, 2008
I honestly dont think that our draft pick, way at 23, will help us all that much for at least three years. I think if we want to get better this year we need to make some moves with people we've already got. Obviously Hart and Collins NEED TO GO, but who else? People are talkin about Okur and Boozer being gone after next year. I'm thinkin Okur stays and as much as I like him, Booz leaves. So why not get someone for him now? What do you think about trading Booz for someone like say... Chris Kaman? He can play defense, shot block, rebound, and play with his back to the basket. I know their salaries dont quite match, but a scrub here and there wont make much of a difference. Besides, then we could move Okur to PF, which I think would be a more natural fit for him, especially since he guards all the bigger better PF's anyway. I say trade Booz while he still has some value, even though as I said, I quite like the guy.

Plaisted | 11:47 a.m. June 16, 2008
I think someone is posing as Jimmy regarding Plaisted. But I do think Plaisted will surprise a few of us and do ok in the NBA. The reason is that he really is extremely athletic for his size. The NBA is a fast-break run and gun league and he just might fit there better than he did in college. Give him a few years to develop a face up move and a jump shot and he may actually surprise. But I think he would come with way too much baggage and local negativity to make it on the Jazz - and the Jazz do not fit his up and down the floor style as a Golden State or Denver would.

I agree that our 23rd pick will hardly be an impact player for us in the immediate future. Truth is that we need to drop Andrei AND Booz, though I like them both, pick up Shawn Marion or someone of his type that will fit in with JS's style and ensure our cap is able to surely fit DWill in.

Another Luther Wright? | 1:00 p.m. June 16, 2008
Considering this guy's expectations about Utah, I don't think he's smart enough to play in the NBA. Remember Luther Wright?

seriously? plaisted? cmon you guys, the guy is a second round pick at best. he may be athletic, but he is not capable of bangin' inside with the bigs in the nba. i would be very surprised to see him last more then a couple of seasons in the nba. as far as our draft pick we should definetly take hibbert if he is there, unless someone better drops to the jazz. i also agree that the jazz should start shoppin boozer. he will opt out after this comming season and someone will offer him the max. package him up and get something for him now while they can.

Come on everybody. Plaisted might be an okay pick if we pick him in the second round... but I think the Jazz need to shop one of their second round picks and their first round pick to move up a spot or two and get Roy Hibbert. There is no better option for the Jazz than Hibbert this year (who by the way will have an impact on the Jazz this year if selected). The Jazz then need to shop Jason Harts expiring contract and possibly one of our swing men, and pick up Earl Watson from Seattle to play behind Deron. Seattle is basically trying to do as poorly as possible right now so I think that trade could happen. Or, the Jazz need to buy out Hart and pick up Earl Watson through free agency. Sorry Hart... you are a good guy, but go enjoy your millions of dollars on a beach somewhere.

To Plaisted, 11:47 AM:

The NBA a fast break run and gun league? You must watch a different league than I do. Other than a couple of teams, that is not the case. That's one reason why, for the most part, the average NBA game is BORING, unless you have a rooting interest in one of the teams.

Trade Deron Williams... | 3:07 p.m. June 16, 2008
I think the Jazz should trade Deron Williams while we still can. He was a total ball hog, and thats the main reason why Boozer looked bad, because Williams didn't pass to him and messed up the Jazz's chemistry. We should trade him and try to get someone with experience like Sam Cassell or Robert Horry, guys that have been there and know how to get the job done.

Maybe we could get Mutombo here too. He is the big man that we have been missing all along. Good call, let's send that no good D-Will packin'.

Are you freakin nuts? You'd struggle to if you had two seven footers running at you.

Trade who??? | 3:32 p.m. June 16, 2008
Trading D-Will is a horrible idea. If Deron Williams was a ball hog then why did he average over 10 assists a game and only around 20 pts per game? He is one of the best point guards in the league. If he wanted to be a ball hog, he would have a much higher scoring average. D-Will only scores a lot when he feels the rest of the team is not playing. You more than likely don't watch the Jazz. It is like trading Kevin Garnett for Jaren Collins.
