Yes, Urban was a good coach, but he was also EXTREMELY fortunate to have the same 22 guys start the fiesta bowl that started in the first game. Urban was not the best recruiter, though. He basically abandoned the idea of recruiting in-state kids and he had his eye on leaving so he wasn't even recruiting that hard.

Yes, BYU lost some key starters from '06, but they returned the majority of the defense. That defense was directly responsible for winning 6 games last year.(AZ, UNM, UNLV, TCU, Utah, UCLA) Plus, they still had Reed and Tonga and most of their offensive line. Don't forget Collie was back as well.

BYU was picked top 3 by NEARLY EVERY ANALYST last year.

I haven't said that Kyle has done better, rather he has had more adversity than Bronco and he has done pretty well overcoming that adversity. Bronco won't appear to be such a great coach when he struggles to win 8 games this year.

Utah will be the better team in at least 3 of the next 4 years, '09 being the only possible exception.

byu always cries about everything!! utahs football tradition is much richer than byus! we have steve smith and andrew bogut! aint no one touchin' them! we beat a pitt team in 2004 that was 2nd in the country man! and the highest ranked team byu has beat was tcu in 06 and they were only ranked #19! cougars for life!? oh please! more like cougars got knifed!!!

BYU 23 WAC/MWC championships to 5 WAC/MWC for Utah.
BYU 1 National Championship to none for Utah.
BYU 1 Heisman Trophy to none for Utah.

Don't even bother with the "but we've won a bunch of bowl games in a row" argument. (If they'd all been New Years Day bowls against top 10 teams, then you'd have something.)

Winning 7 minor bowl games in a row doesn't even come close to the accomplishment of winning 10 conference championships in a row.

it really works to our favor because Bronco Mendenahll, has a special line to the Church HQ, with all the addresses and e-mails of any athlete that goes on a mission, so he can recruit him while he is doing the Lord's work. The world really is our campus!!!!!
