the closest one was in Arizona (not Utah), and the event is actually becoming a better exposure showcase than Nike Camp (ever since NCAA coaches were banned from attending..)

How sad. Doing a Nike camp does not make BYU bad. Nor does having a Nike camp make it bad at all. My nephew attended one of these about 8 years back and it was incredible. He ended up with a scholarship and now an education.

I must have missed something here. How is this bad?

now all BYU needs is to make the jump to Div. 1 hockey like Notre Dame and then you will see some real sport on campus. outstanding. you can just see it now, a packed mariott center crowd watching BYU ice hockey team play the North Dakota Fighting Sioux or the Wisconsin Badgers. now that would be an EVENT!

Why is this important? Because it is one more glimpse for the rest of the world to show that BYU is not some outer space outpost. Eventually, recruiters from BCS school will not be able to perpetuate falsehoods about the Cougars and Mormons, and this can only help BYU.

Hey yewts get ready for your last year as a competitive school with BYU. Coach witt is a scumm bag and a traitor and he will get his as he is fired in 2 years. BYU has beaten you in everything the past 2 years except ladies gymnastics. BYU will finish this year no higher than 5th in the country just like in 96'.

Great for BYU, finally a Nike camp coming to Utah. As for the facilities, don't trash talk too much, I've been to several "big" name schools and BYU & Utah compare with all of them. Where Utah & BYU don't compare is the money the "big" schools have to give to students and put it into the campus... That's where money talks along with the hotness of the co-eds.

Thank you BYU, for keeping the true capitalists living up to their name. Love Pete & Les

While Nike will always be one of the big dogs, Under Armour is quickly becoming the apparel brand that high school kids prefer to wear.

Urban Meyer once said kids want two things when they choose a school: Nike apparel and games on ESPN.

Within 5 years the majority of kids will want to go to a school where they can wear Under Armour rather than Nike. Nice switch by the Utes.

Unfortunately, neither Utah or BYU can offer the opportunity to play on ESPN.

I can only hope that type of post does not personify the majority of BYU fans in this state. Ridiculous. And predicting a '96 repeat is almost as foolish. If I remember right that '96 team lost one game that year to Washington. With the current BCS system in place a one loss non-BCS team doesn't touch the top 15.

You're right, a lousy 1 loss non BCS team is lucky to be ranked in the top 15. However, this is no "WAC", "MAC", or "Conference USA" team. This is BYU, a team that is top 15 when it has 2 losses. Do the last two years ring a bell?

By the way, BYU had 14 wins that '96 season. Can you name two other college football teams that ever won 14 games in a single season?
