Some find way to beat gas prices

there is an old technology now resurrecting and I am in the process of getting my Honda Civic on HHO (hydrogen that is produced on demand)to supplement my fuel...it is for real. I started at 37 mpg hiway..doing some preliminary things people can do to save gas I am at 42 mpg. hiwhway ( meeting the hybrids) and I am heading for 50 mpg or better without elec.hybrid technology. It is not for everyone, but for those who make the effort, it is real. HHO burns clean too, very little emission problems, one of the benefits. My Honda Civic presently gets better mileage than most larger mortorcycles and some scooters. Why auto makers don't offer it, who knows. It works.

That's great Mr. DePaulis, too bad you can't take your natural gas Civic on vacation, though. Natural gas is only a half-solution to the problem.

I commute from North Davis county to So. Salt Lake every day. I had been getting about 32mpg in my 1997 Nissan Sentra. A guy at work introduced me to "hypermiling". Look it up on the Internet. My first full tank using the techniques of hypermiling produced almost 39mpg. That's like buying 4 tanks of gas and getting the 5th one free. If we all did it, supply would increase and the price would go down.

HHO is simply the Junior High electrolysis of breaking two H20s into two H2s and one O2. In the automotive application you then burn the H2s and O2 and get the two H2Os back.

The problem is that, thermodynamic laws being what they are, you loose energy at every step along the way. I'm glad that "water for gas is real" has been able to change his driving habits to increase his mileage or that he has been able to begin using his home's electricity to run his car. He isn't saving energy.

I think the HHO process might use some of the energy that is wasted by an internal combustion engine to produce a little fuel enhancer.
