the witch hunt continues | 12:54 p.m. June 10, 2008
Religious bigotry never dies does it.
Notice how the bigots don't about teenage girls in pornography or prostitution. They only "care" about them if they want to get married and have a family.
Bigots are the antithesis to human rights. If anything was learned from this case it should be that the legal age of adulthood needs to be lowered until it is the same as the biological age of adulthood.

"...legal age of adulthood needs to be lowered until it is the same as the biological age of adulthood."

Without regard to pre-teen girls emotional maturity??? Your post registers high on the 'ick' factor. Scary!

yeah - hurrah for the lawyer that rid the coat-tails of the real lawyers doing all the work.

Rod Parker should be proud, standing next to enforcer Willy Jessop, defending the parents' right to abuse their children however they want. Too bad he couldn't stick up for the children as their rights are abused on a daily basis.

You know what? - you can have as many wives as you want - no one cares. Just stop abusing and stealing the futures from your children and we'll leave you alone.

But filling their heads with ignorant claims of the evils of the world, and creating an environment that prevents realizing their full potential, is a violation of their civil rights and is ethically and morally wrong.

Quit being such lousy parents and actually raise some free-willed children.

If you can't do that, then quit making babies (especially with 13 yr olds.) They just end up as little mini-me clones with no minds of their own.

You can be a polygamist without being a robot. What a concept.

yea I mean what I said | 5:56 p.m. June 10, 2008
If there wasn't the stupid practice of trying to keep people children when they aren't this whole problem would have never happened. You know what your statement reminds me of ? It reminds me of "white mans burden" where masters declared their slaves childlike and needing guidance in their lives. It was a "noble cause" to take away peoples rights and civilize them. I don't care what the latest excuse is, taking away peoples rights is wrong wrong WRONG !

If someone reaches age 14 and they aren't ready to be an adult their parents deserve a swift kick.

Fact: The courts have not even adressed evidence of sexual abuse in a criminal proceeding as of yet, because there is none. Not one living soul on that ranch has or ever will be sexually abused. They are the most sexually PURE people on the face of this earth. Any abuse, morally or of any other nature, found among the FLDS elsewhere--once discovered has led to the removal of the perpatrator. That is why you have bitter former members. Some of the "lost boys" (men) are also a result of being sent away from the FLDS people because of immoral or dishonest conduct. Abuse in any form is simply not tolerated nor supported by any of the faithful FLDS members.

Doctrine & Covenants section 65:6

Wherefore, may the kingdom of God go forth, that the kingdom of heaven may come, that thou, O God, mayest be glorified in heaven so on earth, that thine enemies may be subdued; for thine is the honor, power and glory, forever and ever. Amen.

To Janet, look real deep at your prophet Warren Jeffs, Now! their is one so called prophet who really knows how to smooch the heck out of one little 12 year old sex parter. I'd say that is quite evidence enough to what's taking place in the FLDS sex compound. Me oh my!

These little FLDS girls need to grow up and make choices on their own to who want to "LEGALLY" marry. It's NOT an OLD false prophets choice!!

To the brilliant CPS, yourself, and others with your genius; a little twlve year old, standing next to someone who is 6'5" could actually be a thirty-six year old. Get a clue!

I'm sure you follow the example of people like Alanis Moreset, it doesn't matter if the girl's thirteen as long as the couple is not married. Or maybe Larry King, charge him for child molestation. Maybe Angie Voss, just marry another woman and and once a month have hell, you have a twisted logic bud.

Purity, of morals especially, is the FLDS lifestyle and belief.

To rick
purity for the little girl, but what about the old geezer who uses God for his sexual desires? Sounds like a real pure deal going on there.
Janet | 7:00 a.m. June 11, 2008
The FLDS have the most clean morals, you are applying your own mentality to it. I am twenty three, I have been an FLDS member all my life and I have never met any old geezer who uses God for his sexual desires. That is so sick, clean up your mind! I know of a girl who was absued several years ago and the man who abused her was asked to leave the community and is no loner associated with any FLDS. Abuse, in any form is not tolerated in my religion.
"Stay clean and pure, guard your morals with your life, it's done through prayer. Get and keeep the Spirit of God. We are here to learn who God is and how to become like Him". Warren Jeffs

American Hero? Really now, come on. I believe everyone sehould get legal aid but it would be very hard for me to sleep knowing I helped send the children back to the baby making factory. Maybe he would like his young children to be raised there. No?
Re: Janet | 12:01 p.m. June 11, 2008
"The FLDS have the most clean morals..."
"Abuse, in any form is not tolerated in my religion."

I suppose it all depends on what you consider to be "moral" and how you define "abuse." You may not believe that it is immoral for a man to have sex with multiple partners, but there are many people who still do. FLDS multiple "marriages" are not legal and are considered by some to be nothing more than group-sanctioned fornication. You may not consider an underage girl who has been married off to an older man is a victim of abuse, but state laws do. As an adult, you are free to make your own choices, but defending the practices of your religion as "moral" and not abusive toward teen girls will not change the way the majority currently views morality and the law with respect to the FLDS practices.

P.S....
"Guard your morals with your life"??? Is this another way of saying, "It is preferable to allow yourself to be murdered than raped?" Can you FLDS (as well as LDS) be any more condescending toward women?

To lynn parker.
Tell yourself whatever helps you sleep at night. You husband KNOWS underage marriage occurs in that cult. Thanks to all the legal help, 5 known victims of sexual abuse have been returned to that compound. But hey, he got a lot of cool TV time..

To Janet:
You forgot "keep sweet". You know, that hidden code that says never disobey you boss, I mean husband!
Janet | 7:42 p.m. June 11, 2008
To Lynn Parker,
You have rason to be grateful for your husband. I am a little drop in the pond but I am thankful for his efforts and I pray God to bless him and his family. Jesus Christ says, oh, will there be any faith left when I come. I want to be among that faithful that He is seeking for and I appreciate the honest in heart and their efforts. Heaven bless you.
