Van Tassel and Stephenson in the same article again.

I'll gladly pay a little more in taxes if it goes directly to my kid's school and his teacher.

We need to get starting teacher salaries to about $40,000 to be able to recruit and retain good teachers here in Utah.

The Utah Tax Payers association stands for everything that is wrong with our state.

We don't need more McMansions or more SUV's. We need well paid public teachers for our next generation of wage earners / tax payers.

I didn't know that the Utah Tax Payers Association stood for more McMansions and SUV's (sic). Can you tell me where you got that information?

The Utah Taxpayer's Assoc. stands for cutting taxes on huge corporations. That means less money to Utah schools and the teachers we all depend on.

Teachers are NOT underpaid. Quit crying! There is nothing that makes me madder than every year teachers boobing about the amount they make. GET OUT of the profession if it is not enough, period.

No. Utah sees a major earthquake every 350 years. Last one? 350 years ago.
