I'm disappointed that through all the accolades for the great energy effienciency, the professionals who are really responsible for implementing the "vision" outlined by the governor were never even mentioned in the article. What about the architects and engineers who made the dream a reality?

Amy K. Stewart, you should have used the school's soon-to-be name (UVU) even thought it won't be official until July 1. What's one month? Plus, the reason they are getting the new Digital Learning Center is because it was a requirement for their University status. I am suprised you left that out of the article!

Yeah new library. Is the school every going to get desent place for the arts? Soon-to-be UVU is still the ONLY school in the state without one. Even CEU in Price cares more for the arts the UVU.

If they are making UVSC a UVU, then where do the community college students go? It's time then to build 3 new community colleges in like one in Spanish Fork, another one in Orem, and then another one in Lehi or Eagle Mtn area.

That way, UVU can just focus on being a real university and not get stuck with open enrollment with all the community college students...

What are we trying to do compete with BYU and build every building that their is possible, The UVU thing really sucks for some people but Whatever works for them. I hope that they are happy in changing the name, Whatever works.

So this wonderful building is horrible from a library point of view. It has WEST facing windows. The sun glare is awful and the temperature fluctuations will destroy and ruin the collection even more. Direct sunlight + books = destruction. I'll put money on the students not using a good chunk of the space out of sheer discomfort.

Anon at 1:49. The School of Humanities Arts and Social Sciences HAS been trying to get funding for an Arts Center for some time, but much of the administration has been nonsupporting. The Arts Center will house Fine and Performing arts of all kinds. Concert hall to art museum. It's purposed location is North of the library.

There is an Art Museum, but it's at the University Mall because the school wouldn't find room on campus. the theater is stuck in the student union - though they are doing a production at Sundance this fall!

If you want to support the Arts Center PLEASE contact H.A.SS. or Institutional Advancment -
